Makaveli
The table below shows the results of my Shot Finder query with the following criteria: regular season or playoffs, fourth quarter or overtime, 0:05 or less remaining, shot to tie or to take the lead http://blogimages.thescore.com/tbj/files/2012/03/120305-clutchshooting.jpg http://blogs.thescore.com/tbj/2012/03/04/kobe-bryant-lebron-james-and-clutch-shooting-when-perception-and-reality-shake-hands/
Guru
Damn, I never realized that Iggy missed so many shots in the clutch.
EastCoastNiner
We'll see if this gets locked, but we know it won't because of who's at the top of the list.
Owner Real Deal Posted March 6, 2012 Owner Report Share Posted March 6, 2012 Never thought of it before, but Durant really has missed a lot of threes at the end of games. Quite a few of them are taken about 26-27 feet away, though...takes those long Jimmer threes, with someone in his face.

Need4Sheed
I pretty sure Lou Williams should be on that list.
EastCoastNiner
Count how many players this topic is about, and reply to my post. Just about the same amount as my topic had. Try again though. If someone shows a stat that LeBron is better at then Kobe, we all know that it's not going to end well. It was a chart of about 25 players showing their clutch ability in the 4th Quarter and O.T. with one minute to go. LeBron was ahead of every player.....yes, including the holy Kobe Bryant, which is why you locked the topic, and then decided to start a topic with LeBron and a purse. Hypocrisy at its finest. EastCoastNiner
LeBron: 9/15Kobe: 5/21 Ben Gordon: 3/8Bosh: 2/4Chauncey: 4/12Derek Fisher: 3/6Dirk: 4/10Duncan: 2/8Horry: 3/8Iverson: 3/6Manu: 4/10Melo: 1/5Nash: 4/8Pierce: 3/11Rashard Lewis: 3/6Rasheed Wallace: 1/6Ray Allen: 4/9Tony Parker: 2/3Wade: 2/8Z-Bo: 0/4 Pretty much a similar length list, but go ahead and try and make some excuse. There was no trolling involved or anything. You obviously didn't want to try and compare LeBron to Kobe with something that LeBron seemingly had better statistics at. It's as simple as that. You usually don't do crap like that, so it's surprising you did. Edited March 6, 2012 by BeeBeeSee

I will find them and make you look like a fool, if you please. How about your ignorant MJ topics I left open? Go ahead and push the button, dude. Owner Real Deal Posted March 6, 2012 Owner Report Share Posted March 6, 2012 Your first post included this: LeBron>>>>Kobe in the clutch. Fact. Then I actually replied, ready to leave your topic open. Then you said this: Brb, can't refute facts. LeBron>>>>>>>>>>Kobe in the clutch. Facts are facts. *Waits for ring comment when Shaq led the Lakers to those titles* What's Kobe's record without Shaq or Gasol again? And that's when I locked the topic. Now, discuss THIS topic, or don't post in it again.
Finch23
Let's just all agree that both Kobe and Lebron are douche bags! ;-) Seriously though I hate both players with a passion, but I'd much rather have Kobe taking "clutch" shots over James. Flash
This is such a watered down definition of clutch though. Last 5 seconds of a game? Its basically who's hit the most game winners.

Flash
Crunch time IMO is the last 3-4 minutes of a close game. Putting all these restrictions on it just makes no sense.
Flash
Interesting article measuring "clutch".http://www.libertyballers.com/2012/2/29/2832299/lebron-james-kobe-bryant-dwyane-wade-clutch-nba-playoffs-4th-quarter
Cleveland's Finest
Crunch time IMO is the last 3-4 minutes of a close game. Putting all these restrictions on it just makes no sense. This actually simplifies it because it's based on one possession. I like that because the last few minutes can have much more go on.

One shot doesn't determine whether or not someone is clutch or not.
Guru
One shot doesn't determine whether or not someone is clutch or not. It does imo. Do or die. You have the most pressure on you when you are taking the LAST shot... not 2 minutes before.
Flash
It does imo. Do or die. You have the most pressure on you when you are taking the LAST shot... not 2 minutes before. Ok, so if Kwame Brown gets lucky on 2/3 last second prayers off of broken plays are we going to automatically crown him as clutch? Please that makes absolutely no sense. Guru
Ok, so if Kwame Brown gets lucky on 2/3 last second prayers off of broken plays are we going to automatically crown him as clutch? Please that makes absolutely no sense. No, but if he got "lucky" 10/20 times he would be crowned as clutch. Why the [expletive] did you pick such a small sample size? What if Kwame gets hot in the last 2 minutes of two games and helps his team win? Is he clutch? [expletive] outta here. And YOU make no sense. There is no where near the same amount of pressure with 2 minutes left and 5 seconds left. Clutchness is defined by the last seconds in a game not the last minutes. Force
Clutchness could be defined as the final minutes...but a TRUE clutch player delivers right at the last second.
Cleveland's Finest
Ok, so if Kwame Brown gets lucky on 2/3 last second prayers off of broken plays are we going to automatically crown him as clutch? Please that makes absolutely no sense. No, that's why this is so informative. All of the players listed have at least 3 attempts. With more than a couple of chances at a last second shot, you can sense a trend and begin to test how clutch they are.
