DunkinDerozan
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Toronto Raptors guard Jose Calderon was helped off the floor in the second quarter of Saturday's 105-86 loss against the Detroit Pistons. With the Raptors trailing 51-27, Calderon was sprinting down the floor when he stepped on Brandon Knight's foot and sprained his right ankle. Calderon was helped back to the locker room by two teammates without putting any weight on the ankle. Moments later, the team announced that he would not return to the game. X-rays on Calderon's ankle were negative, but he is not expected to play in Sunday's game against Milwaukee. "We'll have to come up with something," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said about replacing Calderon in the lineup. "We have Jerryd (Bayless) and (Gary) Forbes at the point, and LB (Leandro Barbosa) can slide over. We'll figure it out. It isn't an excuse." Hopefully it's not too serious. Although it could help our lottery odds, if the Raps were planning on trading him, this could be bad.
Check my Stats
Jerryd with a chance to start, if he can produce like he did in the time he got minutes at the end of last year, well let's just say that could make things interesting. clutch injury though, more losses please. Very clutch. Right when Barg gets back, Jose goes down.
Art
Very clutch. Right when Barg gets back, Jose goes down. I can not wait to see Andrea Bargnani back on the floor. Edited March 11, 2012 by Art Hues
Pound the Rock
Honestly this is sort of funny. I was wondering how the Raptors would remain in the top 5 for the lottery with Andrea coming back. People on other forums proposed that Jose take some time off. Edit: on this note, it'll be good for Jose to get some rest till near the end of the season since he's going to be playing for Spain in the Olympics. It'll ensure that he's fresh for next season. Built Ford Tough
So he's not playing tonight? Nope. He is travelling with the team and is expected to be back at some point during the Raptors 5 game road trip, though.
