March Madness 2012 Discussion Thread

Cincy playing way too passive with Sullinger. He got his 3rd foul and ever since then they stopped putting pressure on him. They gave him way too much room on offense, are letting him establish deep post position and Gates has been shooting fadeaways over him instead of attacking him.

They should've went right at him since it is well known he plays timid when he is in foul trouble.

Marquette looks like shit. No ball or player movement on offense, no pressure on defense, allowing easy looks both inside and out and have made 6 of their last 30 shots.

Credit to Florida, though. They've continued their excellent play from the first weekend of the tournament. Beal in particular has been fantastic.

Lol.

In the OTR Yahoo bracket, my only FInal Four team still alive is UNC.

Wichita St. - gone 1st round

Wisconsin - gone Sweet Sixteen

Marquette - gone Sweet Sixteen

My only Elite Eight teams left are:

UNC

OSU

Baylor

Kansas

If I was serious about that bracket, I'd be embarassed.

But...you were?

If you say so.

Talk about getting thrown to the wolves. Not only is Stillman White making his 1st career start, having to fill in for Marshall but he has to defend DJ Cooper, the opposing teams best player as well.

Offensively all he really has to do is pass the ball into the paint and get out of the way, so it shouldn't be that bad.

I'm shocked that Ohio State has made it this far. William Buford, who was once our best offensive player, has declined in his play big time ...yet we are winning. DeShaun Thomas and Aaron Craft are making the plays we need to win. Sullinger was awesome last night on the rebounds, and Lenzelle was solid on defense and had some helpful points.

As long as DeShaun Thomas can continue this hot streak, this team looks to be headed for the Final Four. I never would have thought this...especially since last year's team had more depth and three point shooting, yet failed to make it past the Sweet 16. It must be the defense, because this team has transformed from its struggles during conference play.

I have Florida creeping into the Final Four in my bracket...but honestly, I need Louisville to win, because I really don't think Florida can take out Kentucky.

Not really sure if Louisville can get the job done, either, but I'd take the team that is more likely to stop Kentucky from scoring, rather than the team that will try and outscore them in some offensive onslaught.

Syracuse has to go down tonight. It's all about Kansas now, and I am sick and tired of seeing KU get lit up behind the three-point line all game OR during important scoring runs. I'm just not so sure I like the physical play of OSU, seems like KU gets caught trying to match it from their opponents rather than play smart ball, and it gives us trouble.

Ugh...really, I'm undecided. :wallbash3: Kansas is so inconsistent, I'm not really sure how much we can take advantage of Fab's absence.

Still have OSU moving on in my brackets, though...based strictly on what I think will happen.

The only team that has a chance to take out Kentucky is Kentucky.

A fully healthy UNC squad, not just Marshall, but Strickland as well (could throw in McDonald as well) could because they could match the athleticism, depth and skill that Kentucky has while also having a size advantage, but no team left has a legitimate chance, imo. It will take some hot shooting or Kentucky having a poor game, perhaps a combination of both.

As for this game, it honestly feels like Florida should be up big right now. I'm not paying a lot of attention, but it seems like Florida is dominating, yet they are only up by 2. Maybe it only seems like they are dominating because I am not paying much attention, though.

Beal (the one player I have actually paid attention to) is continuing his strong tournament. Two early 3's, a nice drive and dish to Boynton for a 3 and is being his usual active self defensively.
