In each of the past 5 games, I've guaranteed a win for the Heat. The only loss was a blown 10 point lead in the 4th quarter against the Suns. This time the Heat are facing a much tougher opponent, and I can only hope the Heat come out on top on this one.

The Nuggets are rolling with 5 straight victories to start the season, but the Heat's momentum has slowed down a bit facing the Suns and Wizards. JO and Beasley's production has slowed down considerably since the first two games of the season, and so has the Heat's win margin. Both of them need to step up tonight in order for the Heat to have a chance.

I have a feeling that Wright is going to be big coming off the bench. He has always played well against this team, and with this possibly being Cook's last day out from injury, there may be a little extra pressure for Dorell to perform in order to keep a rotation spot. I expect good all around numbers from him.

There have actually been some good individual defensive performances from Q-Rich the past couple games against the aging Grant Hill where he held him to 2-11 shooting, and last night where he held Caron to 13 points. Hopefully this trend will continue against Carmelo tonight. Right now the weak points for the Heat defensively have been at the PG and SF spots. They need Chalmers and Q to step up.

Wade has 7 points, and Melo has 17. Guess who's still winning by double digits? :D

Anyone who says Wade is doing it by himself has not been paying attention to this team.

Very sloppy game so far, though, especially in the 2nd quarter. 13 TOs by the Nuggets and 12 by the Heat.

Didn't watch the game  but I am happy we won. How did Wade do?

22 points off of 6-17 shooting. He only had 7 points in the first half, though the Heat were still up double digits.

The Heat built an ever larger lead in the 3rd quarter up to about a 24 point margin. The Heat's rhythm started to look a bit shaky towards the end of the game and the Nuggets caught up the score a little closer somewhat like the game against the Wizards, but the Heat still managed to keep themselves outside of a 10 point reach till the buzzer sounded.

Wade didn't have a great game for his standards, but the Heat played great physical team defense. Chalmers and O'Neal were big offensively, and Haslem did his thing with another double double. Beasley is still struggling.

I have no idea how the Heat managed to beat the Nuggets without Wade contributing big time. I mean, yeah...I see how they did...but it's mind-boggling. Denver should've capitalized on Wade's bad shooting night, but they let guys score left and right.

And I wouldn't say Miami played that great defensively. They allowed Denver to shoot 47% from the floor. Melo put out his usual 30, but Lawson did what he wanted, and surprisingly, Afflalo played like an all-star. Denver just missed a ton of open threes and had no answer for Jermaine and Mario, as you said.

I'm still hesitant to pull the trigger saying this Heat team is for real. Let's see how they are a month into the year. It's pretty astounding though if they can make no major changes(other than trading for Q-Rich) and magically become a good defensive team though.

The Heat have always been a good defensive team. That's the one thing that Riley really stressed here as does Spo.

I am also hesitant to call this a top team. We got lucky late in games..we are great early on in the game, but as the 4th quarter comes around we become careless with our possessions. If we can beat teams like Cleveland, Orlando, and Boston then I will will say we are for real. So far I am happy with what I see.

I agree we need to play a full 48 minutes in order to win a lot of games this year. I think Cleveland is very beatable and if we keep playing with the same intensity on defense I think this team can make a lot of noise.

So far, every game the Heat have played they have been winning by double digits at least at some point in each game. The only loss they have had was against the Suns, where they lost their double digit lead in the 4th when Phoenix started zoning and the Heat couldn't adjust, offensively or defensively finding an answer for Nash.

I am very confident that the Heat will remain a top 3 team in the East for the remainder of the season, like I've said all off season long.

I don't think we ever led the Bulls by double digits. I may be wrong though because that was a very close game.

I'm pretty sure they did at some point in the 2nd or 3rd.. maybe I'm wrong, cause the quarter-by-quarter scores don't show it. The Heat still won by 8 points, though, which is one basket away from a double digit victory.

We get a lot of double digit leads, but we give them away. If we go up 20, we should be leading by 10 points or so for the rest of the game..we can't allow a 20 point swing like we usually do. Also, these have been home games, I want to see out performance on the road.

That's true. The Heat still have adjustments to make, of course, they haven't perfected their play. Still, instead of concentrating on how the Heat lose their leads, I like to look at the positives on how they've been gaining those leads in the first place.

They've had great team defense forcing opposing teams to low scoring games. Q-Rich has been playing surprisingly well, Chalmers has been quiet but solid, Haslem seems to be playing even better off the bench, and O'Neal has even shown signs of his old self. There have been a lot of good things individually in each player that has led to these leads, and the Heat have been playing unselfish team basketball as a whole creating a good flowing offense.

Beasley has been a standout since the Knicks, however, but not in a good way. The Heat are still looking for him to fit into the offense better, and he needs to keep hustling and being aggressive defensively even when his shots aren't falling.

Besides holding on to leads and Beasley's production, that's it when it comes to main issues. When the Heat have doubts, there's always the superstar D Wade to fall back on to take over at any time.
