Trayvon Martin

So much speculation, but the fact is that Zimmerman decided to pursue against the orders from the police. Simple as that.

Also, when you shoot and kill, you are arrested. Doesn't mater the reason. That will be sorted out later.

Zimmerman was in the wrong, and the police are in the wrong.

-----------

In regards to everything in between...I doubt a 6-2, 140 pound kid is going to have an advantage over a guy that weighs 100+ more pounds with a weapon, unless that kid has a weapon of his own.

Even if Trayvon was on top of Zimmerman (which I doubt), I'd do whatever it takes myself if some guy was following me, threatening me.

Twist it any direction you please, but there's no justification here. The media may be in the wrong as well, for spinning it or what-not, but nobody should try and make sense of this in Zimmerman's favor, at all.

I think the consensus is that Zimmerman is in the wrong for shooting the kid, without a doubt. That being said, I think the guy was genuinely suspicious of Martin, considering all the crime that neighborhood has seen and his mall cop power trip mentality. Martin did go up to him too lets not forget that either. IMO its possible that Zimmerman tried him, Martin being a 17 year old kid (who'd be rational in this situation at 17?) who felt like he was being stereotyped because of race probably got pissed and confronted the guy. Zimmerman probably shat his pants because now shit just got real for the first time and there's no one to protect him. He gets hit (he has a broken nose and head injuries) freaks out because he's getting his ass beat, reaches for the gun and shoots Martin.

I'm just not convinced this went down like its being perceived. I think Martin was more irritated with this guy than anything else, not afraid. If he was scared of this short, fat rent-a-cop loser then why did he walk towards him?

Like I said before, no one knows what happened for sure and any theory could possibly be right but I think we can all agree that this kid didn't deserve to get shot.

This is probably closed thing to what happened.

In addition, an eyewitness, 13-year-old Austin Brown, told police he saw a man fitting Zimmerman's description lying on the grass moaning and crying for help just seconds before he heard the gunshot that killed Martin.

The initial police report noted that Zimmerman was bleeding from the back of the head and nose, and after medical attention it was decided that he was in good enough condition to travel in a police cruiser to the Sanford, Fla., police station for questioning. He was not arrested.

Martin's girlfriend had said in a recording obtained exclusively by ABC News that she heard Martin ask Zimmerman "why are your following me, and then the man asked, what are you doing around here." She then heard a scuffle break out and the line went dead.

Phone records obtained by ABC News show that the girl, who is 16 and asked to remain anonymous, called Martin at 7:12 p.m., five minutes before police arrived, and remained on the phone with Martin until moments before he was shot.

ABC News has also learned that Martin was staying in Sanford at the time because he'd been suspended from Krop High School in Miami after school officials found him with a baggy that they suspected contained marijuana. He was staying at his father's fiance's house in Sanford.

Copied and pasted this from ABC. It's funny how people think the kid is completely innocent.

the media has made this sound completely wrong. some places are saying that Trayvon had never been in any trouble in his life. now i'm not saying smoking pot is some awful crime, but obviously he wasn't the straight A student who never did anything in his life type of kid they try to make him out to be.

They only go by what fits the agenda, not the facts.

Kid was minding his business, walking home.

Dude saw him, left his house with a pistol, followed and harassed the kid.

Police (who he called, and whose job it is to actually pursue matters like this) tell him to stay home.

Confrontation occurs.

Zimmerman shoots and kills the kid he described to the police as a typical asshole who always gets away.

I don't know what Florida laws are, but I know in certain states the aggressor/instigator in confrontations are not allowed to use self-defense. Anyone know? Would be an interesting trial to say the very least.. and I think that's what the case deserves, at minimum. A trial.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

In any event, I don't really have too much of an opinion on this matter other than Zimmerman murdered the kid. Trayvon could have hit him first, honestly.. who knows. But in any event, it all brings me back to an Eminem quote (LOL):

Whatever happened to catchin a good-ol' fashioned passionate ass-whoopin and gettin your shoes, coat, and your hat tooken?

People are way too quick to pull guns/knives/weapons/whatever these days.. it's a shame.

And just to play the other side of the agenda, here are some background quotes on Zimmerman (much akin to the ABC post above against Martin):

He called the police department at least 46 times since 2004 to report everything from open garages to suspicious people. In 2005, according to police records obtained by the Orlando Sentinel and other news organizations, Zimmerman was twice accused of either criminal misconduct or violence.

George Zimmerman has not been charged in the Feb. 26 shooting of Trayvon Martin, 17, who was walking home from a convenience store in Sanford, Fla., near Orlando. Zimmerman, who patrolled the Retreat at Twin Lakes development in his own car, had been called aggressive in earlier complaints to the local police and the homeowner's association, according to a homeowner who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

At an emergency homeowner’s association meeting on March 1, “one man was escorted out because he openly expressed his frustration because he had previously contacted the Sanford Police Department about Zimmerman approaching him and even coming to his home,” the resident wrote in an email to HuffPost. “It was also made known that there had been several complaints about George Zimmerman and his tactics" in his neighborhood watch captain role.

Whatever his complaint, George Zimmerman seemed quick to call the police. Over the course of nearly eight years, Zimmerman made at least 46 911 and non-emergency calls (PDF) to the police department in Sanford, Florida, culminating in the two fateful calls he made Feb. 26, shortly before he confronted and then fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

But starting in 2011, Zimmerman’s calls increasingly focused on what he considered “suspicious” characters walking around the neighborhood—almost all of whom were young black males.

On April 22, 2011, Zimmerman called to report a black male about “7-9” years old, four feet tall, with a “skinny build” and short black hair. There is no indication in the police report of the reason for Zimmerman’s suspicion of the boy.

On Aug. 3 of last year, Zimmerman reported a black male who he believed was “involved in recent” burglaries in the neighborhood.

And on Oct. 1 he reported two black male suspects “20-30” years old, in a white Chevrolet Impala. He told police he did “not recognize” the men or their vehicle and that he was concerned because of the recent burglaries.

Odd that he never called about non-black males.

Honestly, this trial would likely be decided by whichever lawyer does the better job of presenting his case.. it seems like both sides have so much against them at this point.

^^I'm with you on that. The evidence, or lack thereof if going to make it so hard to convict this guy. He does need to at least be tried though, and if the law finds him acting in self defense then there will be riots.

it's like real deal said. i don't get how he wasn't arrested or hasn't been yet. i believe everyone deserves their day in court, innocent until PROVEN guilty, but people have been arrested for far less. you still shot and killed someone. how the [expletive] do you not get arrested?!

New reports are stating that Trayvon curb-stomped Zimmerman and was the aggressor.

Easy to confirm, as George Zimmerman would have no teeth if he was curb stomped. Accusations are getting sillier.

Where in that article does it say that Zimmerman was curb-stomped?

Don't post dumb shit, dude.

It's not Trayvon, but the point remains.

If it's not Trayvon, there's no point in posting it. We already saw the pictures, anyway.

Trayvon climbed on top of George Zimmerman and slammed his head into the sidewalk,

I'm guessing that's what ECN meant.

I thought we weren't certain that it was Trayvon. Where did you see that the picture is for sure not of him?

Try reading again. What else do you want to call climbing on someone and slamming their head into the pavement as? Oh, it's pretty much a curb-stomp.

And, the picture has relevance, but it doesn't to you because it doesn't fit the liberal and over-reactionary agenda.
