Memphis @ L.A. Lakers

Kobe's avg thru the first 6 games in 05-06 = 32ppg

Kobe's avg thru the first 6 games this year = 34.5pgg

Yes, he can still avg 30+ if he wanted/needed to.

He can avg all he wants, with this current roster without Gasol we'd lose in the 1st or 2nd round, I don't see him avg'ing assist like LBJ nor reb's aka triple double status. He's a product of many shots.

Nobody is getting out of the first round in the West unless they have an all-star teammate, doesn't matter if you put up 35/4/3 or 30/8/8. Kobe's scoring is a product of many shots, while LeBron's all-around numbers are a product of not having anyone else handle the ball or rebound. Both translate into playoff losses.

Nice job, DJ. 13 boards and 4 blocks. The Lakers are even deeper at the C position than I thought.

Haha, well...that wouldn't be the case for him on a consistent basis, though. Plus, he's still bad offensively. He does move around well, but there have been a few games this season (preseason and regular season) where he has attempted some of the dumbest shots I've seen in a long while, haha.

I know where his weak points are, it isn't hard to figure out :P

I didn't watch the game at all, but the numbers show that he can fill in on occasion and be pretty solid at least at one end of the floor. Those 5 offensive rebounds are looking pretty good, too. It seems like he can be the guy to make hustle plays and do some "dirty work" when needed.

Nice win and all, but you guys are acting like you just won a championship, its the friggin Grizzlies, you struggled against them in the 1st half.

We just beat a Grizzlies team without Gasol and Bynum. All we had was Kobe (who is out of his prime now), Artest (the bad seed and chucker) and Odom (inconsistent loser married to the ugliest Kardashian). We just defeated OJ Mayo, Rudy Gay, Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and Allen Iverson with a group of "losers" that depend on Gasol to win anything.

You guys beat the Grizzlies last year with half your players injured and Kobe scored in the 50s. We all know Kobe can do it himself. only talent does not make a good team.

Wow, please don't feel you achieved something by beating the most poorly coached, disorganized, and laziest team in the league. We lost to the Kings and to the Warriors too, who are worse then a Gasol-less and Bynum-less Lakers team.

Wow, I don't think anyone is freaking out that we won the game. My sarcasm about being a piss-poor team without Gasol and Bynum must not be detected here, so let me cut to the chase: Kobe dropped his third 40+ point game in the last four games. He put in most of his points off of tough fadeaways. Ron Artest had an excellent game where he was actually hitting his open shots. That's all.

The next time I make a post, I'll be sure to make it third grade level, so it's universally understood.

So we can't express any form of joy, just because it was the Grizzlies?

Lakers won. Hurray.

LOL. Yeah. Woo.

I'll refrain from being excited until we win the Finals, since these wins are just too easy for a team like ours.

Kobe killed it like usual. 19 for 30??? Beastly percentage. I'm not sure why they let O.J. get abused possession after possession.

Artest played well again. He's really getting a feel for how he's going to fit.

Haha, yeah, it was really odd that they didn't run double teams at Kobe the entire game. Unless you have someone like Pippen defending Kobe, you really don't let Kobe "get his" and force the rest of the team to beat you, mainly because the rest of the team CAN beat you.
