Check my Stats
Jason Terry is going to piss this game I can feel it. No one is going to touch Bosh this game, should drop 30 if he is getting enough shots. Mavs are gonna have trouble with us if they are playing Damp significant minutes, as long as we rebound the ball defensively and make them pay for playing Damp by giving Bargs and Bosh lots of touches we should be okay. Dirk is going to get his but we have to continue to try and keep guys out of the lane and close out on shooters. My biggest concern is that we are going to be too reliant on our 3-point shot, especially early on, but we are getting better offensively which is scary for opponents, we are spreading the floor and Turk/Hose are learning to coexist. Is Josh Howard still hurt? Don't be surprised if Marion is guarding Bargnani and Bosh tonight more than Dampier. I expect to see a lot of Dirk and Marion at C and PF tonight, Bosh needs to go right at Dirk and try and get him in foul trouble, Bosh is doing an amazing job of getting in the paint so far. headliner
In this game I think that the raptors need to be aggressive offensively and defensively and limit the second chance opportunities for the Mavericks.
Check my Stats
Definitely need to keep up the good work on the glass, not used to seeing the Raptors with more rebounds then their opponents like they have lately lol. Bosh needs to take it inside early on, at Dirk if that is who is guarding him, early. I don't want to see us launching more than like 4 threes in the first. headliner
Eric Smith is reporting that Josh Howard will make his debut tonight against the raptors.
Owner Real Deal Posted November 7, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 7, 2009 If Howard is healthy, Dallas takes it convincingly. The Mavs are loaded with Howard in the five. It not only gives them another scorer, but also a long defender that can come in and out of the game along with Marion, and give more room for Dirk to operate without having to struggle on defense so much. Howard won't be defending bigs, but Marion can (as noted earlier), and that's all that Nowitzki needs to turn in a huge scoring game. Built Ford Tough
"Dallas has won nine straight at home against Toronto by an average of 11.8 points since the Raptors’ 109-104 win Dec. 30, 1999." Toronto played very well last night but I think that this game might get out of hand. Dallas are fresh while Toronto are on the tail end of a back-to-back. The Raps have always struggled in Dallas as well.

Check my Stats
How does Howard tip the scales that much? I understand he is good but am I am more scared of Terry and even Barea then him, the gunners are the guys that kill us.
Check my Stats
First half thoughts: -Taking a disgusting number of jumpers, not making them either which is annoying that they keep taking them. -Bosh and Hedo need more touches they are the only ones capable of getting to the hole it seems-Bargnani is doing a surprisingly nice job on Dirk when Dirk gets it in the high post, even if Dirk is making those fades those aren't easy shots-Jose is playing solid again, he seems to have his jumper back when coming off the screen-I don't know why Demar is starting he is doing nothing, gets no touches and is crappy on the defensive end, may as well have Wright starting My main concern, as it was coming into the game, is the number of jumpers we are taking. Though a lot are good looks they aren't falling and we aren't trying anything new. Hedo is going to need to get more touches in the second half if we are to make this a game, otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas pulls away, unless we hit a hot streak like we did last night. I would like to see Hedo handle it up top more with Jose used is a spot up shooter more often. On the bright side, we are shooting 38% from the field and we are only down 7 at the half with the Mavs shooting 52%.
Built Ford Tough
It seems like everytime the Raptors play the Mavs in Dallas they are able to keep the game close until halftime, but once the 3rd quarter starts Dirk just goes nuts and decides to completely take over the game and led the Mavs to a double digit lead. He has 11 points in the 3rd and the Mavs have increased their half time lead of 7 to 17.
Check my Stats
Seems like Jay has thrown in the towel, Dirk is just playing on another level right now, it is so [expletive]ing annoying that he is shooting like 65% on nothing but jumpers, many of which have not been easy wide open shots. Our offense is really stagnant, we aren't getting up and down the floor, just look tired as hell.
headliner
To many jump shots and they need to attack the basket
Check my Stats
This defense has caused me to turn off the game. You can't give up that many open shots and expect to have a chance at winning.
BasX
Sam Mitchell would have an orgy for the amount of SHATS Dallas is making
MainEv3nt
Josh 24 minutes, 16 points, 4 Reb,3 Stls, 2 assists no turn overs good start to his season.
headliner
I`m questioning the level of this team basketball IQ
Owner Real Deal Posted November 8, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 8, 2009 Josh 24 minutes, 16 points, 4 Reb,3 Stls, 2 assists no turn overs good start to his season. And THAT is how he tips the scales.
Dash
I think its time that Colangelo focused on bringing more defensive minded players to this team. They have the offensive punch to be a great playoff team, what they need is a Raja Bell.
Check my Stats
And THAT is how he tips the scales. Dallas would have won regardless.
Owner Real Deal Posted November 8, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 8, 2009 Dallas would have won regardless.Probably so, but Howard is possibly the most complete player, offense and defense, on the Mavericks, although Dirk is easily the franchise. headliner
At the end of the day the raptors didn’t have an answer for Dirk. Even when they were guarding him he just shot the ball over most of them. The raptors gave up to many wide open shot and you just can’t do that. The Maverick shot the ball extremely well and the raptors couldn’t hit anything.
