Sħãlïq™
Not only did Cleveland match a season high with its sixth loss, rookie guard Kyrie Irving didn't play in the fourth quarter because of a sprained right shoulder. Irving, who scored 29 points, said he was injured in the second quarter while falling to the floor after fighting through a screen set by Milwaukee's Ersan Ilyasova. Irving played the entire third quarter but sat out the final 12 minutes. "There's a lot of pain in my shoulder right now," he said. "I'm taking a lot of Advil and anti-inflammatories and just trying to get through it. I'm really not trying to miss any more games especially winding down the season," he said when asked if he would play Saturday. "It all depends on how I feel in the morning. I've had problems with it before (but) it's totally different," he said. "It's not as bad as a separated shoulder. I'll tell you that." Irving, the No. 1 pick in the draft, said no X-rays were taken Friday and he planned on joining the team on its flight to New York, where the Cavaliers play the Knicks on Saturday night. Irving, who was 11 for 20 from the field, including 6 for 6 on 3-pointers, separated the shoulder during his sophomore year in high school.Source Edited April 11, 2012 by Sħãlïq̵'
Sħãlïq™
Irving out 10 more days - Injured shoulder forces Cavs' Irving back to sideline: CLEVELAND (AP) -- The losses keep piling up for the Cleveland Cavaliers.Non-competitive during an eight-game losing streak, the Cavs learned Wednesday that they will be without rookie Kyrie Irving for at least one week and perhaps the rest of the season after the point guard re-injured his sprained right shoulder during a 35-point home loss to San Antonio on Tuesday night. Cavaliers coach Byron Scott said before Wednesday night's game in Milwaukee that he has considered shutting down Irving for the final few weeks of the season.http://www.nba.com/2012/news/04/04/cavs-irving.ap/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2
Sħãlïq™
http://www.nba.com/2012/images/04/02/thomas-irving-feb.jpg The Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving and the Kings' Isaiah Thomas were today named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month, respectively, for games played in March. The award is the third for Irving this season and the second for Thomas. http://www.nba.com/rookie-ladder/ See Also -- Injury clips Irving: April 11 -- Ricky Rubio got bumped off the Ladder when he went out with his season-ending knee injury, so it's only fair that Kyrie Irving falls off this week. Irving re-aggravated his shoulder injury and should miss at least another week. With nothing to play for besides experience for 2013, the Cavs are in no hurry to bring him back. So, until he returns the future Rookie of the Year will have to watch along with Rubio as 10 other rookies vie for the top spot. And for those of you wanting to see justice served (Irving and Rubio fans), I'll reshuffle the deck April 25 when I put out my final Ladder of the regular season.http://www.nba.com/rookie-ladder/
