Sħãlïq™
Mohammad El Akkari scores 113 Mohammad El Akkari joined the exclusive 100-point-game club when he scored 113 in a Lebanese league game Tuesday. Akkari, a 27-year-old guard for Moutahed of Tripoli who went in averaging only 7.6 points in 23 games, made 40-of-69 shots, including 32-of-59 3-pointers, according to fibaasia.net. He had only one free throw. Thank God for this performance. I think it's all a result of my practice," Akkari said, according to fibaasia.net. "I also want to thank my coach for letting me play that long and all my teammates for helping." Records show that this was the first 100-point performance in an official game in any league of the FIBA Asia National Federations. According to fibaasia.net, 100 points have been scored in a game in Asia twice: Lou Salvador had 116 for the Philippines against China in the 1923 Far Eastern Games, and Jeron Teng scored 104 points in a high school game in the Philippines. Akkari, who has spent seven seasons with Moutahed, joins that group and NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain, who scored 100 points for the Lakers against the Knicks in 1962. Chamberlain, though, made 28 free throws in that game. "He's a phenomenal but very underrated shooter," Moutahed coach Ahmad Fadel said of Akkari. "He puts in a lot of hard work in practice. I am not surprised." Moutahed won the Lebanese Division A League Final Eight game against Bejjeh173-141.http://espn.go.com/espn/story/_/id/7774255/mohammad-el-akkari-scores-113-points-fiba-asia-game Hmm, Kobe probably would've went for 300... Owner Real Deal Posted April 4, 2012 Owner Report Share Posted April 4, 2012 including 32-of-59 3-pointers:o Hilarious, though. I'm not really shocked. I saw Dajuan Wagner score 100 in a high school game, averaged 43. I understand this isn't in high school, but the level of play is not what we see here, either. DunkinDerozan
wow, how the hell does a guy who only averaged 7 ppg in a league like this score 113 points? and by the amount of shots he took, it looks like he was the only one on his team who ever shot it. Crazy accomplishment.
