Universe
http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=283238 The Montreal Canadiens have extended qualifying offers to their six restricted free agent forwards, centres Tomas Plekanec and Kyle Chipchura, wingers Christopher Higgins, Guillaume Latendresse, Matt D'Agostini and Greg Stewart. Plekanec was the leading scorer of that group, tallying 39 points in 80 games in 2008-2009. Latendresse and Higgins missed time with injuries and produced 26 points and 23 points, respectively, while D'Agostini finished with 21 points in 53 games after getting called up. Chipchura and Stewart played most of the season with the Hamilton Bulldogs in American Hockey League. fly3rs18
its gonna be interesting to see where komiserik goes (cant remember how to spell and dont feel like looking it up). some girl on the NHL channel said that he will probably sign with the islanders, but i cant imagine him being stupid enough to sign there
Universe
Only reason he'd sign with Islanders is because it's his home city.

Universe
Lost two of my favourite players in Higgins and McD for someone I find really overrated. Pretty much means Komi won't be coming back too since they are bff.

Universe
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/210205-montreal-canadiens-two-day-frenzy The question entering free agency frenzy was how many All-Star defensemen could the Montreal Canadiens lose in the shortest amount of time. By the end of the day, Canadiens proved they could move the total to three in three years, losing Michael Komisarek on top of Sheldon Souray and Mark Streit. The Canadiens ended the day losing just Michael Komisarek to the enemy while adding Jaroslav Spacek, Hal Gill and Mike Cammalleri on top of getting Scott Gomez the day before. Questions arouse of if the Canadiens improved or just took one giant step to the side. Adding veterans with large contracts who aren’t superstars while having tons of youth ready to enter the NHL questions what direction the Canadiens are heading into towards with such a young goaltender. Going into free agent day, Canadien fans were in uproar but soon calmed down as Bob Gainey added some replacement pieces.

Universe
wow that is like a new teamYeah it was a good move getting a fresh start as we've went through so many coaches with the same results. Only player he wanted to keep ran for the hills and grabbed the best dollar out there which is perfectly fine if you weren't a Montreal Canadien signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
