*I got permission from Real Deal to post this.*

Yesterday I launched a simple polling app called Polls.io. It's super simple and social and doesn't require you to sign up to use it (actually, you can't sign up at all).

I'd appreciate if you would all give it a try and let me know your thoughts on it. I'd love to get some more feedback. We already made a handful of tweaks since yesterday after hearing some responses from people.

Here are some sample polls so you can get a feel for what you can create with the site.

Does life exist outside of Earth? http://polls.io/ugoht

How do you get your news? http://polls.io/usprd

Have fun!

What's the point of the site?

For people to create polls? The site has actually gotten a great response so far. It's really not meant for a sports forum..

A few blogs have picked it up and tons of random people are creating their own polls each day. I'm not really worried what this community thinks.

I just don't see any feature/concept that will make people want to come back. Maybe it's just me though.

Take a look at poll.cm. They've been around for well over a year (maybe two), and in that time they have collected over 40,000 votes through their user-created polls. They don't have a way to share/give feedback on the actual poll.

We saw this as a flaw in their system and created an app that was just as simple to use but allowed you to tweet/like/comment directly on the poll. This allows for our users to get feedback much quicker and more efficiently.

I understand that not everyone needs to create a poll. Most people can go a lifetime without having to poll anyone. However, for people like college students working on a research project, teachers, startup industry, etc. it's important to gather user feedback.

So far our greatest response has been from teachers who are planning on using it in the classroom. The site allows them to quickly create a poll, write the direct link on the board, and have all their student quickly go there and answer it. They love the fact that no one has to register or sign-in to create or vote on a poll.
