How important are the final games for the Heat and Thunder?

Just looking at the standings...

OKC Thunder: 47-18

Miami Heat: 46-19

If the Thunder lose their last game vs. the Nuggets, and the Heat beat the Wizards...both teams are going into the playoffs with a 47-19 record.

Both have one win against each other this season, so you go to conference records.

IF the above happens (the victory for MIA and loss for OKC), Miami has a 36-12 conference record, while OKC would have a 34-14 record.

Heat would have HCA over the Thunder, if they met in the Finals.

------------

This is why I was clueless when I saw the big three (for Miami) resting against a Celtics team that didn't give a damn. Easy win, and beating the Wizards would have given Miami that HCA, regardless of what the Thunder do.

Now, Miami has to hope that the Thunder lose vs. Denver.

We obviously don't find it important, we basically gave away two wins again the Wizards (assuming we lose tomorrow). I never understood why we gave up on going for home court in the East, we were only like 1 game behind the Bulls and we decided to rest everyone.
