JYD
Big game, I guess. Never expected the Knicks to win a game in Miami anyway, and now especially without Shumpert (and possibly Baron Davis and Tyson Chandler). Cleveland's Finest
This is the last chance I'm giving New York. Melo and Amare should think their reputation is on the line this series. That doesn't mean that the Knicks have to win this series, but at least put up a fight and look like you have two all-stars on your team. fish7718
Don't know how much losing Shump will hurt us, we sucked on offense last game, the D wasn't too bad, just LeBron was on fire and they were getting calls...I think we can still win this game but it's the offense we have to worry about not the defense, if we can control the ball we have a shot, turn it over, you lose

You're kidding, right? The series starts game 3 in New York. If the Knicks win that, it could be a fun series to watch, if they lose that, then obviously it's over and won't even be competitve. I think what you're trying to sayis the Knicks need to compete tonight. And not lose by 40... I understand it happens, but after last year's showing in the playoffs, you think they would come out with more fire. How did Carmelo not expect them to front him like that in game one? He's got to adjust and get the ball tonight and score early. Point is, Carmelo is classified as a top player in the game. Therefore, he should be able to win at least one game this series. Let's not forget, the majority of the Knicks problems came because they couldn't get the ball to Anthony when they were fronting him. It wasn't necessarily 100% his fault. It was one game, lol. He is definitely a star player. And Carmelo played well in last years playoffs, by the way. He was the reason the games were competitive with Boston. And if we want to judge him based on a game, He had a 43 point/17 rebound/6 assist performance in game 2 last season in the playoffs. Cleveland's Finest
Yeah, but after Game 2 they returned home by playing terrible in two home games, essentially quitting in games three and four if not for Anthony Carter play in game 4 when he revived them for a comeback. I get what you're saying in that he's taken over games, but it's about time Carmelo wins. Built Ford Tough
I get what you're saying in that he's taken over games, but it's about time Carmelo wins. But you have to realize that he is the 3rd best player on the floor every night in this series. I could understand where you are coming from if it was just Wade or just James that he was going up against but you are basically asking him to carry his team on his back and outplay both Wade and James, because that is really what it will require for the Knicks to actually win this series. 3 of the 4 best players in this series are on the Miami Heat and two of those players are top 3 players in the league. It is simply unreasonable to expect that Anthony should be able to just take over this series. Yeah, he is an upper echelon player in this league, but he is not a LeBron James or a Dwyane Wade who can win a series basically by himself against a far superior team. SRV
My dad had tickets to this game from his job and then the guy who owns the tickets decided he was going to the game =[. Oh well, at least I am guaranteed to go to at least one playoff game this year.
Built Ford Tough
The Knicks defense, Fields in particular, are doing a very poor job of bumping cutters. Hell, they are doing such a poor job of locating cutters that they aren't even in position to bump them. Good timeout from Woodson.
Built Ford Tough
Melo having his way with Battier ever since Battier came into the game. Getting whatever he wants offensively.
Cleveland's Finest
There's more complaining to refs than focusing on the game...goes for both teams.

platoon793
Offensive rebounds seem to have kept the Knicks right in the game so far. Heat need to do a better job of that in the 2nd quarter

Yeah for all the star power I was excited for this. It's watered down basketball full of weak foul calls and complaining. Hopefully this isn't what the NBA is going to be like all the time. SRV
Guys, there is flopping in every NBA game, this isn't big news. As long as the game isn't determined by a flop, then whatever, there is nothing you can do to stop it other than stopping the game every time someone falls over to scientifically determine if the guy that fell over was strong enough to withstand the hit. Collectively, Clippers and Heat are the worst or best floppers in the league depending on how you look at it. No other team comes close. There are individuals who are known for it like Fisher, Collison, Vlade Divac, etc. But teams as a whole were not doing too much of it. The Heat though are really good at being subtle about it. Lebron, Battier, and Chalmers can be brilliant about it. They got it down to a point where I'm sure they've been practicing it. It's going to be part of the game though like Fish said. Sadly, more teams are going to have to integrate it to their defense to compete.
