Phil Jackson's "got the energy back"

Let the Phil to New York rumours begin, even though that team's problems run a lot deeper than coaching (now with D'Antoni gone who was horrible and should never be hired in the NBA again).

I doubt Phil wants to come back to LA, but then again, you can't rule it out because of Jeanie.

Wouldn't be shocked to see him coach the Knicks, though.

If he goes to Miami, it'll make me sick. Phil is my favorite coach of all time, among all sports. It would be like Kobe going to Miami or Boston.

Broussard brought it up not too long ago, when they were talking about where he could land...and for the simple fact that the Heat are already a stable contender (with their big three) and Phil is notorious for walking into good situations (1990 Bulls, 2000 Lakers, 2006 Lakers once they drafted Bynum).

That would be so gay if he coached Miami, honestly. If they don't win the title, I think it is possible. I don't think he comes back at all, but I think LA and MIA are the 2 spots I see him going. I see Brown getting fired if LA doesn't win this next game.

Simmons chimes in:

"1 I'm enjoying Phil Jackson's revisionist "I never wanted the Knicks job" routine. He wanted it. Sent out multiple feelers thru 3rd parties."

"2 Dolan never even considered Jackson. Dolan's biggest fear in life = employing someone who is smarter and more popular than him."

"3 Jackson always assumed he'd take a year off, then be the "savior" of the Knicks for big bucks as the fitting last act of his career."

"4 Dolan wanted no part of Jackson's dream ending for his career. Again - wouldn't even consider it. So Jackson is backtracking. (The end.)"

Phil is playing mind games again.

But, I will say this much: I wouldn't want to coach the Knicks. Not with Melo and Amare together.

And if I'm the Knicks, I'm disappointed I didn't land Jackson, putting aside what he's saying right now.

I'd have loved Phil for sure, but the Knicks didn't even consider him. Funny that he's got the sour grapes going, though

A guy like Phil having the Knicks for a full offseason and season could change the complexity of the team, ask for the trades he needs, and even lure a vet like Nash. But to act like he wasn't interested after they shooed him away is awesome.

Phil spoke of how his career ended with the Lakers, mentioning the way they acted when they lost (specifically, Bynum) and you could tell he hated going out like that.

So, closing his career the way he wants to...that's probably his focus right now, and to say he doesn't want to come back and coach the team he played for (knowing he wants one more run) is him just staying in the headlines, and basically keeping his name out there for other teams to contact him (because, of course, others will be interested).

Whether or not that means he will coach another team...I mean, I'm not really sure of his intentions. Maybe he's hoping the Knicks have a change of heart, if indeed other teams show interest and try to swoop in and land him. Would Dolan jump on it if the Heat started talking to Phil?

It's really hard to figure out Phil Jackson's way of thinking, sometimes. You can sense he wants to coach, but the way he goes about things...just complicated, yet, effective.
