Usain Bolt Eyes Man Utd Tryout

On Monday, 2012 Olympic 100-meter champion Usain Bolt told a British newspaper that he'd like to play for Manchester United. On Tuesday, United star Rio Ferdinand offered to help, and the two exchanged tweets about the possibility.

"People think I am joking, but if Alex Ferguson called me up and said, 'OK let's do this, come and have a trial,' it would be impossible for me to say no," Bolt told the Sun on Monday. "I would not take up the challenge if I didn't think I was good enough. I am a very accomplished player and know I could make a difference."

On Tuesday, Rio Ferdinand sent this tweet to Bolt: "if you want that trial at Man Utd shout me, I'll speak to the boss!! Well done in 100m, waiting for you to smash the 200m now!" Bolt replied: "After the Olympics we work on that...lol..thanks man". Bolt won the Olympic 100 meters with a time of 9.63 seconds (new Olympic Record), won the 200-meter finals with a time of 19.32, and capped his perfect Summer Games by leading the Jamaican 4x100m Relay Team to the title in a world-record 36.84 seconds Saturday night. The 6-foot-5 Jamaican first met United coach Alex Ferguson and the team when he visited Manchester in 2009 to take part in a 150-meter sprint through the city streets.

"I would be the fastest player in the team -- but I can play as well," Bolt told the Sun. "I am in Britain for a few more days. If Alex Ferguson wants to give me a call, he knows where I am. I definitely want to see what I could do. I think I could step up to the Rooneys." A United spokesman told the Sun: "As the fastest man on Earth, he would undoubtedly add speed to the team."

Roberto Mancini insists Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tévez will not be leaving Manchester City this summer.

The pair have been linked with moves away from Eastlands in recent months but Mancini maintains they are not for sale and wants to keep his current attacking line-up intact ahead of the new season.

“We scored 93 goals last year so I’m happy with those four [sergio Aguero, Mario Balotelli, Dzeko and Tévez]. They will stay here,” he told the Sun. “I still have confidence in them.”

Mancini and Tévez famously fell out last September when the Argentine refused to come on as a second-half substitute in City’s 2-0 Champions League defeat by Bayern Munich.

The former Manchester United striker missed most of the campaign following the confrontation, before returning to Mancini’s first-team in March and scoring four goals as City won the Premier League title.

The 47-year-old has been impressed with the Argentina international’s attitude in pre-season and called on the forward to continue in the same vein as City look to defend their league crown.

“I am happy with Carlos, he’s worked really well since we started training. His attitude is excellent — now he must continue like this,” Mancini added.

“It was hard for him last season because he had six months out, so when he came back he was a long way behind.

“But he played a part. He scored four or five goals at the end of the season and those were important.”

Dzeko needs to leave City an go to Italy either play for Juventus or AC Milan where he would return to his true form and drill goes as he did in Germany. But if he was to stay in England he should either go to North London and play for Tottenham and he would be starter every match for sure. Or just City should just accept the switch and give Dzeko to Arsenal for RVP. But greedy as City wants more money on top of that for Dzeko.

What no way! That would just be a publicity stunt, but what would be something to see haha. He is the same size as Dzeko but beyond faster then Dzeko haha.

I wouldn't think so considering the deal GM struck with Manchester United stretches over seven years and is only worth $560 million.

LOl it was just 80 million pounds and that was a world record. Chevy blows out Aon out the water.

What do you think of Dzeko Cobb?

I really feel as though he doesn't have place on the team, especially with the way Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero have paired up. He did great in the first half of the season and he scored he game-tying goal in the last match of the season against QPR, but he clearly wasn't happy with the amount of time he was spending on the bench in the second half. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves before the pre-season transfer window closes since it is clear that he desires to play more.

Totally agree, he is a really good footballer. I would really want him to go to Tottenham, he would dominate there.
