Sħãlïq™
J. Sloan coming out of retirement? http://www.speculativesports.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/jerry-sloan-to-resign-300x200.jpg According to a recent article in the Journal Times, former Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan will probably be coaching in the NBA next season. Said the article: Don’t be surprised if Hall of Fame coach Jerry Sloan is back on the sideline next season. Sloan, who resigned just over a year ago after a remarkable career with the Utah Jazz, piqued the interest of some NBA teams during the offseason, one being the Indiana Pacers who eventually rehired Frank Vogel.Sloan, who abruptly retired in February of 2011, turns 70 on March 28. He is one of only three coaches to have 15 consecutive winning seasons. The other two — Pat Riley and Phil Jackson. Were Sloan to come out of retirement he would become the old active NBA head coach. Riley and Jackson, both of whom are retired, are both 66 years old. http://www.athline.com/3211/jerry-sloan-to-come-out-of-retirement/

Blazed49
I wonder if he'd be interested in Portland. Definitely wouldn't mind having him.
JYD
No. PJax>Sloan>Woody I guess. There is absolutely a certain amount of respect given from the players and a certain standard they are held to when a legendary coach like Phil Jackson or an all-time coach like Sloan is the Head coach. Idk...I thought Woodson did a great job and he's the right man for the job. Don't see Jackson being at all interested in the Knicks position, and I don't really see Sloan wanting to take it on either.

Yeah but in his first year they managed to reach the second round. With the team growing individually and as a whole i feel a coaching change would do nothing but harm. It doesn't make sense to make such a drastic change after a successful year.

ChosenOne
look at the transition from del negro to thibs in one year lol Ehh it all cant be credited to the coaching. The team made some serious improvements. But yes i get your point, still don't thing such a drastic of a change is necessary though.

TheNotoriousBANG
Jerry Sloan is reportedly only interviewing with the Bobcats because he wants to ask Kemba Walker what it was like to meet the Jimmer.
