Built Ford Tough Posted June 9, 2012 Report Share Posted June 9, 2012 Indiana. Have a very good team 2-5 but are missing a real difference maker at the point. Very good defensively so they can compensate for his weakness there. Good cast of shooters around him (Granger, George, West, Hill [if they re-sign him]) and a nice low post big in Hibbert. He wouldn't have to take that big of a paycut to go there, either. Even after extending Hibbert and possibly Hill, the Pacers could still offer him a decent sized contract. Owner Real Deal Posted June 9, 2012 Owner Report Share Posted June 9, 2012 I would say New York, but after seeing how the Melo/Amare duo struggle to play together, it's hard for me to really put a stamp on it. However, with the right coach, it could make sense, as Nash could feed Amare off of pick and rolls, much like he did years ago, and Melo can continue to score off of isolations, instead of Amare depending on Anthony. Plus, you have Chandler, who would love Nash as much as he did CP3. Given that, and that New York is a big market, it would make sense for Nash to land there. Indiana is interesting, too. I know people are high on Collison, but really, they would thrive off of Nash, and his ability to hit open shots would open the floor up even more for everyone on that team. I know people will say that James, Wade, and Nash would all need the ball in their hands, but Nash would open up the floor and be able to hit a lot of jump-shots, while James and Wade can drive to the hole or kick it out. But would that make them title contenders? Probably not as I still don't see them getting by Miami. It would most definitely make them the second best team in the East next year, though. If things go their way (like a Wade or Bosh injury for example) they could find themselves in the Finals. They may not be a contender by my definition (For what it is worth, I thought there were a total of 4 contenders this year in OKC, Miami, SAS and to a lesser extent LAL) but if everything goes right they could be one of those surprise teams that win it all like the Mavs last year. Give Nash a small three year deal, have him start for two as Rose rehabilitates his injured leg, the Bulls can still put butt's in seats. It's a shame that Nash's options are scarce besides Miami and Indiana. I have an odd feeling that with Nash, Hansborough will get to that next level and elevate his game to something better than ever. New York is awful for Nash.
