So, where does his 11-12 season rank, roughly, among the all-time greats? I was thinking about it, and since I started closely watching basketball, I can't think of a season since Shaq in 2000 that was so dominant from start to finish. It was dominant in virtually every fashion...his stats were unbelievable in every facet, from volume to efficiency, he led his team in virtually every area in both the regular and post-season, he won the MVP award convincingly, could have very well won the DPOY award, dominated the league in the advanced stats categories, he came up very clutch in the playoffs, put up some of the greatest games in playoff history when his team was down 1-2 to Indiana and 2-3 to Boston, scored at least 26pts in I believe 19 of his 23 playoff games, and was remarkably consistent in every series en route to his first championship and Finals MVP.

Dude was simply on another level this season, and was about as complete in terms of talent/skill/regular and post season performance as I have ever seen. I thought this season was more impressive individually than any season Kobe, Duncan, KG or Dirk have ever had, and was right up there with some of Shaq, Bird, Magic and MJ's best seasons. If he has another season or two like this, and a few more years at an elite level, I think he has an awesome chance at being somewhere in the middle of the top 10 all-time greatest players.

Easily one of the greatest of all time for the reasons you mentioned. Not sure how to even go about ranking individuals seasons, but it's definitely up there with just about anyone's regular season ever.

LeBron's been so incredibly consistent as a regular season player for the past 7 years or so, that the only knock on him was that he hadn't stepped up and elevated his game in the post season and win a championship. It was weird how bad he'd often be in the playoffs/finals (I know there were exceptions) considering he's really been the best in the NBA for quite some time now, or at least 1A. To Kobe...

Now that he's won, it's hard to criticize him for much of anything.

Hopefully instead of shitting on him and bitching about him, people can finally start and just enjoy the fact we are getting to lay witness to one of the greatest players of all-time and hopefully one of the best careers of all-time. Dude is still only 27, its incredible really if you think about it.

Its going to be interesting to see how he comes into next year. If he is going to still have that same hunger he clearly did this year. I hope so, because surely he knows 1 ring isn't going to cut it. Hopefully he continues to put in work this summer on his post game, and hopefully Wade practices shooting spot up jump shots.

Last player to do something similar was Timmy D

No other all star on that roster. Robinson was retiring, and Parker and Manu were basically rookies.

In the playoffs Duncan averaged 25 PPG , 15 RPG, 5 assists and 3 blocks. He had a near quad double in a finals game missing out by 1 block (stats say he had 8, but I've watched the video 1 million times and he had 9.)

Since this finals was hardly watched I understand why people don't recall how dominant Duncan was in the postseason/finals.....
