JMEWLS
What do you think about this? I personally think he's our best defender outside of Dwight Howard. He didn't get much opportunity because he lacks a consistent perimeter game. But with a new coach things could change, I see him with a much bigger role. I hope he re-signs. Owner Real Deal Posted June 24, 2012 Owner Report Share Posted June 24, 2012 Well, it's a $1.3 million PO, so I mean...he could probably get more money elsewhere. The thing is, if he leaves, and Orlando loses Howard, they will most certainly be a bottom five defensive team in the NBA...especially if Howard is dealt to the Nets (because they won't be getting any stellar defenders in that deal). Looking at the roster right now, Howard and Clark are the only two players on the team that even know what defense is (maybe Daniel Orton, who doesn't matter at this point). Q-Rich is trying to make up for his lack of quickness with his physicality, but it's just catching up to him nowadays.
JMEWLS
Couldn't agree with you more, as I was saying these guys are really our only two defenders. We're going to be next to horrible defensively if we don't resign. I think it showed last season how much we need that lock down defender, since Courtney Lee, Pietrus and Barnes have left we've been hurting. We were saying on another forum that he's probably ready to start next season because I'm doubful that Hedo Turkoglu is going to be nearly as affective without Stan Van Gundy. I think it's about time we give him a chance and hand over the reigns.
