kingfish
Which do you think should be traded? If we can swap Gasol for Iggy, that would be great. We need someone who can matchup with Durant and Lebron, Iggy is probably the best defensive SF in the league and matches up well with those two. We definitely need to keep at least one of them. If we could somehow get Odom back he could start at PF for us. Unless KG wants to come here tor cheap, which I doubt. When we lost I thought the thing we needed most was an upgrade at PG, now I think Iggy would help a lot because we need his athleticism. Pau being used as a stretch 4 does nothing for us and hes not that great defensively. We also need shooters, guys like Chalmers and Battier. Owner Real Deal Posted June 24, 2012 Owner Report Share Posted June 24, 2012 If we somehow deal Gasol, and then the Howard/Drew deal falls into our lap, I'm trading Bynum as well. Don't give a damn. And we can't sign Odom until mid-December, if I recall correctly.
Check my Stats
Unless Dwight is coming your way, neither. Pau (probably) won't get the value in return to make it worth it, and there's no point trading Bynum without getting an upgrade in return. The only upgrade in the league at this point, pretty much, is Dwight. Sign/trade QUALITY role players. Trade a coming first for a solid role player. Fire your coach. Beg Phil Jackson to come back, or hire anyone who isn't offensively challenged. I am not in the trade Pau/Bynum camp, unless a team comes to you bent over already (it happens, see Monty Williams), which I don't see, or hope lol. Those 2 are LA's biggest advantage, or at least they were/should be. I just think you need to get too much back if you trade one of them to make it worth it, and I doubt a team gives LA all that they need, especially if it is Pau getting dealt. I think this team needs more tweaking than it does overhauling. Kobe needs to settle less, and if Bynum somehow learned how to pass out of the post it would obviously improve this team incredibly lol. LA does need a couple more shooters like you said, but Ron and Blake are very good spot up 3 point shooters, they need someone to get them open looks, I just don't know who that is. I'd like to see it be Bynum (I am sure many LAL fans would), but I think it has to be Kobe. I just don't watch the Lakers enough to know if he is capable of it. I just think hiring a coach who is a defensive specialist was one of the worst things this team could do after Phil left.
The Regime
I wanted the Lakers to trade Gasol well before the all-star break last season. I just don't see the desire in him to win another championship, and in Mike Browns system he is worthless. Unfortunately we aren't going to get much value in return. I would be surprised to see us trade him for a quality player. As for Bynum, unless we are getting Dwight Howard in return I don't see why we should trade away the second best center in the league. He has a shit attitude, but I think with time he'll mature. I've always supported Andrew and would hate to see him traded. Jordan Hill proved that he could be an impact player given the minutes last season. IF in an extreme situation we get a guy like Deron Williams, then I wouldn't mind starting Hill at the four.
