The Regime
The Lakers are considered the favorites to sign Jose Calderon if he is amnestied by the Raptors to sign Steve Nash, according to sources. Calderon would have to clear waivers through the amnesty process before he is free to choose his next team. But if he does become a free agent, Calderon would then look to sign with the Lakers. Sources say Calderon would also have interest in joining Luis Scola wherever he ends up if he is traded. The Heat and Spurs are also intriguing to Calderon. http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/46996/could-jose-calderon-join-gasol-in-l-a Man I hope this isn't true. DunkinDerozan
Calderon would be a better backup PG than Steve Blake, so I don't see what you have against this. Or if Sessions is leaving like reports are saying, Calderon would be even more important for you guys considering Nash and Williams aren't interested in signing with the Lakers. The Regime
He's a liability on defense, and we're better off spending our MLE elsewhere. I just don't see a pressing need to go after him.
DunkinDerozan
I guess you could sign someone like Billups or Nelson, but I think Calderon would be a better fit in LA then those guys.
