Built Ford Tough
So now that Nash to New York looks like it is all but a done deal, can Colangelo rescind this offer? Pretty please? Oh yeah, and then to avoid backlash, fire him immediately after. That is pretty much the only thing that can salvage the complete disaster that was these past 7 months. DunkinDerozan
Are you able to back out of an offer like that? Whether you can or not, BC still NEEDS to be fired. I'm so sick of him.

JYD
I'm assuming they'd back out if they miss out on Nash. Still have a feeling Nash will end up in Toronto.
RaptorsHQ
We've put in too much effort to not get Nash at this point. For some reason, it's settled in my stomach that we need him now. Also, there's the sour underlying feeling that he's going to choose NY.
Check my Stats
If BC backed out of the deal ,that would be amazing and hilarious. Like Toronto doesn't have a hard enough time signing free agents already, you can be all but assured he would be black balled by numerous agents in the NBA after a stunt like that. It is time to move on. Hire a GM out of the Spurs, OKC, or any organization. I don't care who they are. Rebuild, tank, whatever you want. Do it the right way. I've had enough. If BC doesn't reel in Nash, this franchise should be embarrassed for this whole debacle.

NomarFachix
Michael Grange @michaelgrangeColangelo says #Knicks are "50-50" on matching Fields offer ... #Raptors #NBA :wallbash3: :o
Check my Stats
Colangelo is the ultimate P.R. man. He is full of shit. I would be absolutely shocked if the Knicks matched - they would be incredibly stupid to match. Is Landry Fields really worth paying the tax? Really? Built Ford Tough
Colangelo is the ultimate P.R. man. He is full of shit. I would be absolutely shocked if the Knicks matched - they would be incredibly stupid to match. Is Landry Fields really worth paying the tax? Really? I don't think they match either, but for what it is worth, both Isola (from what I gather, he is the Knicks version of Doug Smith, though) and Woj both mentioned that there is a chance the Knicks match the offer. The only reason I see them even considering matching is because their hands are pretty much tied when it comes to future moves beyond adding minimum contracts. They are already going to be a luxury tax team regardless of whether they match Fields or not and they may figure they have a 3 year window with their Melo, Amare and Chandler core. I may be wrong, but I believe Melo, Amare, Chandler, Lin, Kidd and Camby are all signed for 3 more seasons. They could think that they might as well take the hit, match Fields and go deeper into the luxury tax simply because he would represent a way to improve their team whether it is Fields himself playing, a trade down the road where his larger salary would come in handy, etc... Of course, with the harsher luxury tax penalties in the new CBA, and if my estimate is fairly accurate, the Knicks would be paying around $140M-$150M in taxes by the 3rd year (Fields would add about $40M to that total if they matched him). They will be deep in luxury tax regardless of Fields, but if they do match that just adds to an already insanely high total and for a player of Fields calibre, is it really worth it? Probably not, even for a team like the Knicks.
