Dash
Just when I thought Ariza's shot selection couldn't get any worse, he goes 7-23. -_-
Owner Real Deal Posted November 30, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 30, 2009 Just when I thought Ariza's shot selection couldn't get any worse, he goes 7-23. -_-Yep. He just needs someone to get him shots, that's all. It may never change, either, as the season progresses. Teams will know not to give him the lane, and he'll always settle for the shot, because that's what made him a valuable player in Los Angeles: spot-up shooting. Assuming McGrady does come back, and at full health, you'll see a different Trevor. Landry is a monster.

If teams aren't giving him the lane then simply pass the ball up.

He'd been shooting bad the entire year so far, and taking too many shots in the process. @ BLAZERS (start of regular season)3-8 FG (37.5%), 12 PTS vs. WARRIORS9-21 FG (42.9%), 25 PTS vs. BLAZERS11-17 FG (64.7%), 33 PTS vs. JAZZ6-15 FG (40%), 15 PTS @ LAKERS5-21 FG (23.8%), 15 PTS vs. THUNDER8-18 FG (44.4%), 21 PTS @ MAVERICKS3-10 FG (30%), 9 PTS vs. GRIZZLIES7-17 FG (41.2%), 17 PTS @ KINGS10-21 FG (47.6%), 28 PTS vs. LAKERS2-12 FG (16.7%), 9 PTS @ SUNS8-21 FG (38.1%), 19 PTS vs. WOLVES6-19 FG (31.6%), 18 PTS @ HAWKS7-18 FG (38.9%), 16 PTS vs. KINGS7-19 FG (36.8%), 19 PTS @ MAVERICKS8-15 FG (53.3%), 20 PTS @ SPURS6-21 FG (28.6%), 17 PTS @ THUNDER7-23 FG (30.4%), 17 PTS
Owner Real Deal Posted November 30, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted November 30, 2009 Durant just said on his Twitter that Scola was hurt this game. How bad was it?
Dash
Ouch, only a total of seven games he shot 40% or higher. Not good. Durant just said on his Twitter that Scola was hurt this game. How bad was it? Thomas poked him in the eye and Scola started bleeding, needed seven stitches.
Cleveland's Finest
Props to Houston for digging out a tough road win. I thought OKC at home was impossible for the Rockets. I saw they wore their McDonald's all American jerseys today.
Cobb
How did Oklahoma City lose when the Rockets didn't have McGrady or Scola? Makes no sense considering the talent that OKC has.

Makes no sense considering the talent that OKC has.The same way the Lakers had trouble with the Rockets in the playoffs last season. Houston changes their style of play really well when it's needed. Last year, the Rockets ran up and down the court once Yao fell to injury, and it manipulated the way the Lakers defended them. With Scola out tonight, Houston probably changed it up a bit (not sure, didn't get to watch most of the game).

Dr. Feelgood
Houston is a scrappy [expletive] team. Not that it's a bad thing but I can't wait until they get TMac back. It'll be interesting.

It'll be interesting.Yeah, like I was saying earlier, having McGrady back takes the ball out of Ariza's hands, and it means that Trevor can go spot up and knock down shots. When you combine that with Battier doing the same thing, Landry's improved scoring and Brooks slashing, you have a team that can hurt you in more ways than one (which, right now, is the pick and roll). Dr. Feelgood
Exactly, because clearly Ariza can't be the focal point of an offense. He struggles to much from the games I've watched.
