Make It Naaaashty
Marc Gasol already took jabs at Team USA. I kinda hope USA loses so they realize they aren't going to win at ease. Gonna be a good test for USA.

Owner Real Deal Posted July 24, 2012 Author Owner Report Share Posted July 24, 2012 The Big Three (Kobe, Durant, LeBron) should go to work this game, just to show Spain we're as good as we were in 2008, even without the size.
Warren2ThaG
why not start Deron-Kobe-LBJ-Love-Chandler, isnt that size

Make It Naaaashty
Scary thing is that Marc Gasol isn't even playing today. Idk why Spain has Calderon sittin out for so long, he's the reason Spain jumped out in the begginning.

Built Ford Tough
Ibaka is such an idiot on defense. Is that 4 goaltends for him already and the first half isn't over?
Owner Real Deal Posted July 24, 2012 Author Owner Report Share Posted July 24, 2012 Spain will pose as a bigger threat once they get Marc back in there. They'd also benefit from having Rubio, but I'm assuming he's not going to be ready.

Owner Real Deal Posted July 24, 2012 Author Owner Report Share Posted July 24, 2012 No mention of Melo in this thread? what? Disappeared in the second half. Trade him to Boston for Paul Pierce.
JYD
Why didn't Anthony Davis play more? Or why doesn't he in general? He's definitely a better fit than Kevin Love. He's exactly what the team needs. A long shot blocker off the bench to give guys like the Gasol brothers some problems inside.
Flash
Lulz @ people doubting The Brow before this summer as a beast on this team. He's a monster and IMO has been more impressive than Chandler thus far on Team USA.
Make It Naaaashty
Spain could really compete with USA if Rubio and Marc Gasol played IMO. But with the team they have right now, it's too easy for USA.

Owner Real Deal Posted July 25, 2012 Author Owner Report Share Posted July 25, 2012 Lulz @ people doubting The Brow before this summer as a beast on this team. He's a monster and IMO has been more impressive than Chandler thus far on Team USA.A lot of people were anticipating better play from the reigning DPOY, and while I'd like to see Anthony Davis play more, let's not get too ahead of ourselves. He has barely played, and when he does, he comes in near the end of games, always the freshest guy on the floor (by far). The bar isn't raised that high yet, so when he gets a nice block, you have a mass amount of people excited and thinking great things, but then he turns around and does little to nothing on the offensive end (Chandler is going to be more productive on that side, setting screens and rolling to the rim better, and he has less trouble posting up against bigs right now because, quite frankly, he's stronger). I'd still rather see Chander play the bulk of the minutes, but that's not going to happen if the referees keep calling ridiculous fouls on us (the entire team), and God forbid we continue to play Carmelo Anthony as the backup center. If playing Davis means we keep Carmelo away from the center position, I'm all for it, doesn't matter the minutes.

Throw Away to Worthy
While I think most of us would agree that this squad vs. the Dream Team would be a close game, there's no contest between the two team's uniforms. The USA jerseys from the 1992 Olympics are much more pleasing to look at. While I don't mind the back of the current jerseys, the "USA" angular block font on the front looks awkward. http://spotlightauthentics.com/dream-team-signed-autograph-jersey.jpg http://c-product.images.fansedge.com/25-11/25-11689-Y.jpg Edited July 27, 2012 by Throw Away to Worthy
