Trade idea : Dwight to the Celtics?

As Force said, the trade is way off, salary-wise. Rondo is only at $11 million, and any other filler they could send out would be at $1 million or less. Orlando is sending out approximately $36 million, so Boston would have to return almost $29 million. Pierce would have to go, most definitely.

But, even if the trade were to be for JUST Dwight Howard (maybe Rondo for Dwight, and Boston absorbs the rest of his contract...not even sure if that's possible, with KG and Bass re-signed and Terry coming in), why should I believe Dwight Howard will stay in Boston after one season? Garnett is close to retirement, Ray Allen is gone, Jason Terry will be 36 next summer, and Paul Pierce is out of his prime as well.

I'd rather have Rondo, especially since he's outperformed Dwight at the highest levels of the game, in the playoffs. Even they play different positions, I've seen Rondo put a team of veterans on his back the past few years for some amazing performances. Haven't seen anything close to that from Dwight.

Besides, the trade has no point guards coming to Boston. Avery Bradley should not be starting at point guard. Can't see him bringing the ball ip the floor.
