Warren2ThaG
http://i2.cdn.turner.com/si/2012/football/nfl/01/03/andy.reid.ap/andy-reid.jpgEagles owner Jeffrey Lurie made it clear earlier this offseason that Eagles coach Andy Reid was on the hot seat. Improvement was needed. On Thursday, Lurie made sure no one misunderstood. Lurie said "8-8 would not" be good enough for Reid to return as head coach in 2013. "We need substantial improvement," Lurie said compared to last year's record. "We have a very good team on paper." Consider the gauntlet thrown down. This puts a lot of pressure on Reid, but Lurie didn't say anything that we didn't already know. Lurie just said it in a nice quotable way that will be featured in Friday's newspaper and then repeated all season long. It could go down as unnecessary a quote as Vince Young's "Dream Team" missive. Lurie said that any potential contract extension talks for Reid will wait until after the 2012 season. If the Eagles do as well as our NFL.com analysts think, Reid should have no problem. Another disappointing year and Lurie made it clear that he will blow the whole thing up, including the longest tenured coach in the league and possibly Michael Vick with him.------------------http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000056656/article/lurie-88-wont-be-good-enough-for-reid-to-keep-job
Smitty
Kinda surprised to hear this from Lurie. But regardless, I'm hoping Philly does well this season.
Make It Naaaashty
Eagles are going to win their division so Reid shouldn't worry.

Make It Naaaashty
lol It's happening. Mike Vick will play all 16 games, believe it or not. Their defense is improved and Desean Jackson will rebound after last season. Giants are their only competition in the division so I like their chances. AboveLegit
Mike Vick has played a full season just once his entire career. Losing Peters was huge for them as well, not only to help protect Vick, but he was a major factor in their run game. And to say the Giants are the only competition in that division is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone knows the NFC East is always wide open. Make It Naaaashty
I know Vick has played one full season in his career. It was supposed to be a bold statement lol. Honestly I totally forgot about Peters, but yeah that is a pretty big loss. We'll see how much Philly misses him this year. Yes we all know this is a competitive division. It's just my opinion and I just don't think the Cowboys and Skins are as talented as the Eagles and Giants. Cowboys have way too many issues and RG3 has to prove himself still. ChosenOne
I actually like to hear this from Lurie because it needed to be said. The Eagles got squad and should be better than .500. With that being said it will have alot if not everything to do with Vicks ability to stay on the field.
DunkinDerozan
If Vick gets injured again and they don't do well I'd say they need to replace the QB instead of the coach. I couldn't stand my favourite teams franchise player pretty much being a lock to have an injury every year.
Jesse The Body
Eagles are going to win their division so Reid shouldn't worry. No way buddy not after and escape win in weak ass Cleveland. And on top of that Vick threw for 56 times so that says something they were really trying to put up points but 17 points on a inferior team will not fly in the East (NFC), no way. Not after how Cowboys, Redskins and I saw a lot of good stuff from Giants too, which I expect the Giants to dominate against East peeps.
