DunkinDerozan
Rudy looking a bit shaky to start off. Trying to hard to impress everyone he's already missed a few three point attwmpts. He did catch a nice allyoop pass from Derozan that got the crowd going.
DunkinDerozan
Wow. Wish Shaliq was here so I could rub that one in his face. Pure domination all night, what an awesome game. Feels so good to be a Raptors fan right now
Check my Stats
Clippers looked like a team missing an MVP candidate. Still, fun to watch as a Raps fan, and no excuse for that sort of game by the Clippers. Also, ignorant move by Caron. Raptors were doing the right thing despite pleas from fans to score 100 for the pizza promo, and he steals the ball like that. I would have sent him into the 3rd row on his layup attempt. Built Ford Tough
Wow. Wish Shaliq was here so I could rub that one in his face. Pure domination all night, what an awesome game. Feels so good to be a Raptors fan right now Because they won a game against a Clippers team without their best player and who played disinterested all game long? And, just going out on a limb here, I don't think Shaliq would care all that much about a blow out loss to the Raptors at the beginning of February. I think he can just look at the Clippers' record, compare it to the Raptors record and laugh himself to sleep. Was it an entertaining game? Of course, the best of the Raptors season. Does this game magically make it such a great time to be a Raptors fan? I really don't see wy. It was an anomoly game, not a sign of things to come. It was an anomoly game, not a sign of things to come. They are still a very good team, and we clearly kicked their ass whether they were disinterested or not for whatever reason. Just because it was only one game doesn't mean I wouldn't have been able to joke around with Shaliq about kicking his teams ass lol. I know this one game doesn't make us a great team or anything. I just feel like the feeling in the room might be a lot more positive right now. I was obviously really excited when I made that post last night and might have over exaggerated what I said in it. I don't see why you always have to be a negative nancy about everything though.
Built Ford Tough
So because I'm not overrating a one game performance where Toronto, feeding off the energy of a big roster shakeup, played way over their heads and jumping for joy at being locked into a bottome tier playoff, luxury taxed core until 2015 I'm a "negative nancy"? Give me a break. Give me a reason why I should be absolutely thrilled about the long term future of this team. Budding star on the roster? Nope.Cap flexiblity to make smart trades or signings? Nah.Current contender? Not even a fringe one.Team of 4 or 5 borderline stars who perfectly compliment each other? Negative. If not being excited about watching a slightly better version of the Milwakee Bucks of the past 4 years makes me a negative asshole, well, I'd take that over being a blind fanboy every day of the week. Like CMS said in another thread, the chances of us ever being a contender with what we had before Gay was basically slim to none. It seems like in this league, to be a real contender for a championship, you have to have a superstar. And the only way the Raptors have a chance at getting a superstar is through the draft (because no superstar is going to choose to come to Toronto through free agency like Lebron to Miami, or demand a trade to Toronto like Dwight to LA or Melo to New York). As it stands before and after the Gay trade, this Raptors team is too good to have a chance at getting a 1st overall pick and picking someone like a Wiggins who has a chance at being a superstar in this league. Basically, we could either tank again and hope to god we get Wiggins or someone else in a draft a year or two after him and can hope to some how build a good team around him, OR we could continue with the solid young team we have now and hope to be atleast a solid playoff team. I'm sorry if I offended you by calling you a "negative nancy", but I honestly just feel like you need to look at the positives of things sometimes. Or at the very least, not shit on me every time I make a positive post about our good team just because we won't ever be a contender.
