I hope your bodies are ready..because if you think Pat Riley hasn't thought about this year since the day he signed these 3 you're out of your [expletive]ing mind lol.

He already raped the entire NBA, I'm sure he'll do it again.

Yeah, he really raped the NBA, for his one championship. You (not SRV) are starting to sound like those Boston fans in 2008.

But whatever.

He pulled off the biggest free agency coup of all time. 2 finals appearances and 1 ring in 2 years. Yes, he raped. Rawdog.

Lol wtf did I just read.

We already know basically what each team has to offer by 2014. Lakers have Howard and a big market. Heat have bosh, wade, and are at and advantage for being the team that Lebron is currently on.

What can pat Riley do to the core to make it that much provocative?

Tiger may hit a hole in one on a par 4 once his hole career, doesn't mean he is instinctively going to do it again. Yeah, Riley raped the NBA (had more to do with LBJ and Wade than it did with Riley, but whatever I give credit where it is due)... but 2014 will be completely different.

I don't know who will have cap, or if LeBron will leave, but he is 100% going to opt out. Whether or not he stays, well I guess only time will tell.

I don't think a lot of people realize that the Clippers have a multitude of things going their way right now: LeBron's best friend, and only 16 million in committed salaries outside of Paul and Griffin (who they will surely extend), and one of the best duos in the league. You have to imagine that the Clippers could easily package Jordan and Crawford for a dump, or even just one of them. They could be serious players for LeBron through Paul, just like Miami was through Wade.

I don't see the logic some people have here. Lebron left Cleveland because management neglected to put talent around him. In the city of Miami, if the team has no talent or big names, people will not show up. People don't even show up when we have talent and suck. When Wade retires, we have no choice but to keep Lebron, or the Heat will go back to nothing in the eyes of like 70% of the casual Miami fans. Management will prostitute itself to any big name free agent. Whatever the Clippers or Lakers are willing to do, you better be sure we are clearing cap space and such for the same reason. All we have to do is say...you want to play with Lebron and live in Miami? It has worked wonders thus far.

Wade, and getting out of small-market Cleveland...those were two reasons as well, even if he doesn't want to admit that. Take Wade out of the picture, and consider the bigger markets (LA, NY for example), and suddenly, Riley doesn't have much to tie LeBron down with.

And again, you're assuming Riley will stick the necessary talent around LeBron, yet you state that Wade will be in Miami forever. Well, as he's declining, you've got a guy that's making nearly as much as James, and Wade isn't going to take a significant paycut in 2014 (he's still too young for that, he already took a small one to begin with, and he's not Allen Iverson), so as long as you have two $20+ million players on your roster AND Chris Bosh, that's your cap.

Eventually, Chalmers is going to get paid, so even if you lost Bosh via free agency (and I doubt you will, because he'll want to stick around as long as he can)...I mean, that was the only concern you guys have had.

The new CBA no longer allows sign-and-trades for teams over the cap, and Miami isn't the only team that has to be concerned about that. Fortunately for LA, Kobe is going to retire soon, or take a steep paycut (again, his words, so FWIW), and with Gasol and Nash coming off the books...LA isn't going to be in a bad position.

I don't know. I feel like Wade and Lebron won't hog up all the money if they decide to re-sign. The majority of our roster will be retired or too inexperienced to earn a big contract by then lol

I could see the argument for Wade not doing it, but I seriously doubt LeBron will take another paycut. Not at the level of play he's at right now.

And Bird Rights will allow Miami to re-sign him, of course, but again, that doesn't give them the room to bring anyone else on board.

The CP3 thing...I really don't know why that's a big deal (some are talking about him and LeBron teaming up in Miami). I believe Paul is going to start hurting soon, from those knees, and once you get to that point, downhill is pretty steep.

Before I comment on him going to LA, I think people are being a bit too optimistic about LeBron's longevity. Yes, he'll only be 29 when he can possibly jump ship to LA, but the milage he has on his body already is RIDICULOUS. He's led the league in minutes played twice (and is basically top 5 almost every year), led the league in minutes per game once (top 6 every season besides rookie year), led the league in minutes played and minutes per game 3x in the post-season, has played in 5 Olympics/Olympic-related events (FIBA Ameica's and World Championships) and got big minutes in 4 of those, etc... Most players tend to break down from minutes as opposed to age. LeBron has made massive strides in rounding out his skillset, but with his style of play I am not sure if he will age quite as gracefully as Kobe has. I could be wrong, and I hope he proves me wrong, but I am not optimistic that he'll give either the Lakers or Heat 4 excellent seasons after this contract runs up. Keep in mind, 4 years into his next contract he will be 14-15 years deep in the league, with far more milage than guys like Kobe and KG had up until that point.

Anyway, I could see him going to LA as a major possibility, but I think a lot rests on the next 2 seasons. If he squeeks out another championship, I think he will be inclined to stay with Miami. Remember all that hate he got when he left Cleveland? He hates being the bad guy, and now that he's won a championship in Miami, he will forever be adored by those fans, especially if he brings another championship there. Would he want to risk losing that? And it's not like he's playing for a shitty franchise with a poor record of readjusting the roster when needed to remain a contender...Riley gave Wade 3 seperate contending rosters (04-05 team, 05-06 team, and the current squad). He is as capable as any GM in the league at putting the right talent around his stars, even if it doesn't seem feesible. Him and Mitch are one in the same there.

Either way, you're gonna see him in the Finals for many years to come.
