Sħãlïq™
Jahvid Best not cleared to return, Detroit Lions say http://i.imgur.com/tAKnp.pngDetroit Lions running back Jahvid Best will not return to the field any time soon. General manager Martin Mayhew announced Monday that Best will not be cleared and did not give a time frame for an eventual return. Best failed neurological tests last week, according to Anwar S. Richardson of MLive.com. Richardson cited sources saying the Lions didn't anticipate Best being cleared and that the team wanted him to accrue another NFL season in order to have access to the NFL's pension plan. "After today's consultation with medical experts, including representatives from our medical and training staffs, it has been determined that Jahvid will not be permitted to return to return to play at this time," Mayhew said in a statement released by the team. "While today's decision is disappointing from a football perspective, we fully and entirely respect and support this recommendation. "Jahvid will continue to work with out medial and training staffs with the hope that he ultimately will be cleared to return to the playing field."Around The League Do you consider Jahvid Best's career over? ChosenOne
I think him and Collie shouldn't play no more. They both have had a shit ton of concussions now, and I believe it has come to the point where even the smallest of hits will do serious damage. Sħãlïq™
At the end of last season, I thought his career was over. The fact he still ain't cleared after almost a year doesn't bode too well for him. I'm pretty sure he had some specially designed helmet, chinstrap and mouthpiece. And even if he is cleared to play, he's like one tackle away from another season-ender. So I hate to say he's over, but I don't think he'll ever play again. N.1.A.K.
He might play again, but he wont ever be the consistent dynamic play maker many expected. SoI guess in a way... his career is over.
