Built Ford Tough
Somebody should tell David Lee that when you taunt somebody you should at least do something cool. His "jumping jack" taunt there was quite possibly the gayest taunt I have ever seen done by an NBA player.
Built Ford Tough
I... I... I don't believe it. Jose Calderon, yup thats right, Jose Calderon, just made a nice defensive play to draw a charge. Yes, you read that right, JOSE CALDERON made a nice defensive play. We have officially entered the twilight zone.
Check my Stats
I have decided to watch Smackdown tonight rather than risk becoming frustrated at the prospect of the Raptors losing another game they should and need to win. Jose is probably playing well off the bench, I don't know what is wrong with this guy lol.... nice to see us smashing the Knicks though. Check my Stats
OMG 51 points with 8 minutes left WTF? I thought it was the 3rd Q when I turned it on lmfao. Make that 53. Edited January 16, 2010 by travesy3
BasX
I wish this game stayed on ESPN. America could watch us beat up the Knicks.
Built Ford Tough
And here we go again... I wish this game stayed on ESPN. America could watch us beat up the Knicks. After what happened on Monday against Indiana, do you really think that the Raptors wouldn't let the Knicks back into the game? They always do this. They are quite possibly the worst team in the NBA at holding leads. EDIT: I meant to say "won't let the Knicks back into the game". Built Ford Tough
And whatta know, the Raptors lead has fallen to 11. Who didn't see this coming?
Owner Real Deal Posted January 16, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted January 16, 2010 Wow, weren't they up 24? Bargs looks to be having a good game, just by the numbers. I haven't watched but two minutes of this one, haha.

I haven't watched but two minutes of this one, haha. 28 at one point, I believe. Bargnani has been oustanding tonight. He is in the zone offensively, rebounding the ball (even getting some traffic boards) and playing good post defense (although he has been losing his man without the ball which has given the Knicks some open 3's). Him and DeRozan have been the Raptors best players. Bosh has been solid, but hasn't really stood out tonight. He has put up 18 on 7/10 though, so no complaints. EDIT: Calderon has had arguably his best game of the season as well. Playing like the Calderon of old offensively and has made some nice plays defensively as well. His lack of defense hasn't been an issue at all tonight. Edited January 16, 2010 by Built Ford Tough
BasX
The Raptors played really solid, that lead was getting smaller because was a lot of 3's falling for NY, I'm happy with the way they played. Losing the big lead is still something that needs to be worked on, but that's on Jay and his rotations which were better tonight.

Losing the big lead is still something that needs to be worked on, but that's on Jay and his rotations which were better tonight. Are you serious? You are actually happy with the way that they played tonight? I mean, yeah, they were outstanding in the 1st half but they came out in the 2nd half and played like they already had this game in the bag and didn't need to work. They weren't closing out on shooters like Harrington and Gallinari which resulted in them getting confidence in their shooting. By the time that they started to pick it up a bit on these two, it didn't matter because they had already allowed them to get in a rythym. Offensively they started to get jump shot happy and stopped playing aggressively. They did a better job tonight than they did against Indy at withstanding the Knicks runs, but I definitely am not happy with the way that they played in the 2nd half of the game. Blowing the lead isn't on Jay, part of it is sure, but the majority of the blame should be placed on the players because of the simple fact that they stopped playing basketball in the 2nd half. They came out after the 1st and played like they had already won the game. Some of that can be attributed to Jay not motivating them enough or something, but I blame the players more than I would Gill. If they played with the same kind of intensity that they did for the majority of the 2nd half against a legit team, they would've lost the game fairly easily if you ask me. BasX
I guess satisfied is a better word, anytime playing in New York with this team reminds me of last years group and getting killed. I thought individually they were good, defensively they had lapses but nothing really got me that angry. To me, this game never scared me, even when it got to 9 points, dunno why, that's why i feel they played well. Anyway, best part of the game. Hedo hits the clutch shot, and Bargnani gives him a high five, to the face

I wouldn't say that I was satisfied with the way that the game went, but I can understand where you are coming from. I wasn't really worried about them blowing the lead either, but it still annoyed me to see them allow yet another 20+ point lead dwindle to single digits in the 2nd half. Other than the Chicago game this year, the Raptors have been absolutely pathetic at holding leads. This really needs to be addressed during the 2nd half of the season. I also hope this was the beginning of the end, if not the absolute end, of the 2 PG experiment. I know it's tough to see who to put at the 2, but I can't stand CACK. Edit: 2 PG experiment, to end the game. Edited January 16, 2010 by BasX

BasX
I remember last year when they played NY in NY a friend and I were going to pre drink and watch the game before a reading week party. By the time we were about to start drinking, the game was already a blowout. At least they gave you somewhat more fun. Damnit Toronto. Built Ford Tough
Anybody else think that this was by far the best game that DeRozan has played so far in his NBA career? I absolutely loved the way that he played tonight.
BasX
Ya he attacked well, played good defense, though with the team we have it can be tough to notice and he didn't hurt the team. 11/14 from the line is awesome, absolutely awesome. The only blemish is the airball 3 near the end of the game, but besides that, he showed why he was the #9 pick and one of the top prospects in the draft. Love the kid, he wants to be great, and has a lot of the talents to be very good. How good, don't know... yet.
Owner Real Deal Posted January 16, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted January 16, 2010 Just in case you Raps fans don't know...TORONTO IS A .500 TEAM RIGHT NOW! In late November, just watching them made me think they'd be near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.

I highly doubt that they beat the Mavs on Sunday and they sure as well aren't going to beat Cleveland in Cleveland on Tuesday. They were actually over .500 two games ago, but they decided that they didn't want to win against the Pacers.

They struggled tonight against the Thunder, at home, and OKC was relying on a lot of one-on-one play, rather than team offense. Howard was ugly on offense tonight, and he was letting guys blow past him as well. With Marion acting more like the Toronto version over the Phoenix one, I think the Raptors have a shot. You know Kidd isn't going to light Calderon up like CP3 or Deron Williams would, so you're safe at the point, at least.
Check my Stats
GO JOSE GO edit; perf game to predrink too.Sober when they are doing good, feeling tipsys when they [expletive] up! Lmao. Anyways, glad we got the W. Admittedly I did not watch the game, basically for the same reason BFT was so annoyed lol. I don't know who it is up to, but someone needs to find a way to get our team pumped out of the 2nd half, we come out so flat, rather than coming out with our foot on the gas and try to close the game out early. I don't know if it is on the coaches, Bosh or whoever, but someone needs to get these guys fired up coming out to play the 2nd half. Bargnani looks like he had another nice game, the kid has been playing some really nice basketball lately. GTFO Bosh go to NY we don't need you we got IL MAGO! Maybe it is just me but whenever we play the Mavs I feel we have no chance at winning, Terry always seems to go off, Howard always plays well and Dirk always demolishes us. At least with the Cavaliers, for whatever reason, I feel like we can catch fire from the outside or or at least cause a mismatch on Shaq and maybe steal one. But it will be tough to take one of these games, if we could split the two games that would be awesome, but I doubt it.
