Owner Real Deal Posted January 30, 2013 Owner Report Share Posted January 30, 2013 The Pacers are currently 26-19, 5th seed in the East...playing incredible defense (possibly top ten of all-time when looking at oppFG%), but bottom three in offense this season (at this time, 29th in offensive rating). While Granger has been a good defender most of his career, and he can give you 20 on any given night, he hasn't played a single game this year for the Pacers, AND some believe he's even on the decline (don't look now, but Granger is actually less than three months away from turning 30 years old). Will Granger's return hurt this team more than help it, with his inconsistent shooting and the belief that he's the most valuable player on this team? Is it possible that his return to the lineup will shake Paul George, killing his confidence as this team's go-to guy? If so, would you stick Granger on the block, and what would you like to get back? Check my Stats
You call Toronto and ask them if they are interested in a Ross+Calderon for Granger type of deal, after which, obviously Brian Colangelo ejaculates in his pants and offers to throw in Ed Davis too because he's such a nice guy. Seriously though, how fun is a George-Ross wing duo moving forward? Ross would slide in almost perfectly at the 2 as a potentially elite defender/shooter with top notch athleticism. Cleveland's Finest
You can't trade him. He's still arguably their best player. As long as he comes back with enough time left to incorporate him into the offense, he should play a pivotal role this season. It's similar to the trade speculation around Zach Randolph last season. Memphis stuck with him, and they ended up doing pretty good. The East is so close in terms of the race to the one seed, and Indiana needs to go for it all now. JYD
Didn't realize he was close to 30 years old, wow. Just seemed like yesterday (for whatever reason) that he entered the league and made a real name for himself. Anyway, I don't think he ruins the Pacers. They almost beat Miami last season. Actually, I think he's pretty vital to them being able to advance in the playoffs.
ballorama
No way they make any noise in the playoffs if this guy isnt healthy. He'll help the offense alot with his return.. Indiana will make even more noise this year in May.
