Lkr
Right now, there is no doubt that the MVP will go to either LeBron James or Kevin Durant. However, if the Lakers have a ridiculous run and finish the season as a top 4 team in the west and Kobe is playing like he is now, rather than as a 29ppg player, does he have a shot at the MVP award? The Lakers had high expectations, but after their struggles over the past couple of months, it would show how "valuable" Kobe's play is when the offense runs through him and he facilitates the offense. Obviously the Lakers won't finish with a better record than the Thunder or Heat, but will that matter? Is Kobe even a serious MVP candidate regardless of how the Lakers finish? Owner Real Deal Posted January 31, 2013 Owner Report Share Posted January 31, 2013 LA would have to win 50 games or better for him to even be seriously considered, I'm sure...and that means they'd have to go 30-7 to close out the year. I don't think any team in the league has done that this year. The Thunder were 29-8 after 37 games...but yeah, that's a huge improvement.
