The record the Lakers would have to go to finish .500

1) Can they do it?

2) If they can, would it be enough to make playoffs?

3) Do you believe Lakers make playoffs?

Of these games 12 vs playoff teams

10 are quite easy

6 are against teams right on par with Lakers (Portland,Dallas, etc)

6-6 vs the playoffs

8-2 vs the suck

4-2 against the teams on your level

would be 18-10

43-39, is that enough?

Portland is still ahead of LA and playing well and Dallas has been been playing well too

The Blazers have been pretty bad.  Portland has lost five in a row, and are 5-13 in their last 18 games.

Dallas is 6-6 in their last 12 games.  They are playing better than they were, but not as good as they should be.

LA is 8-4 in their last 12, winning games that they should be winning...but struggling to finish, and they rely on Kobe way too much to carry them through OR come back (like against Charlotte).

--------------

A 41-41 season to get the 8th seed?  Nah.  Utah is still doing okay, playing .500 ball right now, BUT they are 30-24.  They have some wiggle room.

Houston is playing .500 ball right about now, which is actually worse than their record shows (of course, I'm talking the last 8-10 games for them).

LA will need to flip the switch quick, and beat everyone that they SHOULD beat, in order to make the playoffs.  They don't necessarily need to knock off the elite, but just win most of the games that we should be able to win based on talent alone.

I don't know why Dwight is playing in the All-Star Game, by the way.  Kind of makes me a little upset, since he has been complaining about his shoulder quite a bit.

Houston's schedule is about to get very easy, which would mean it'd take a huge collapse (similar to last year) for Houston to miss the playoffs again and I don't see it happening with Harden. So if LA is taking a playoff spot, it most likely will have to be Utah's.
