Clippers, Wizards Had Butler For Ariza Trade Agreed Upon

The Los Angeles Clippers and Washington Wizards had an agreement in

principle on the eve of the deadline involving a trade of Caron Butler

for Trevor Ariza, according to sources.

Donald Sterling rejected the trade a few hours before the deadline in fear of ruining the team's chemistry.

Butler continues to have a home in the Washington D.C. area, while

Ariza would have given the Clippers a wing defender with length.
