Smitty
A source close to IBN and inside the Philadelphia 76ers organization has relayed the info that Doug Collins will part ways with the Sixers after this season. The decision has been agreed upon mutually by Collins and upper management. Doug is reportedly at odds with the GM over the Andrew Bynum situation and let my source know it, quoting Collins, "Bynum is a quitter and never showed urgency to come back from his (knee) injury." This decision will not be announced immediately, and bearing any unforeseen circumstance, Collins is expected to finish out the year in Philadelphia.Doug Collins was the 1st overall pick of the 1973 draft selected by the 76ers. He spent nine years in Philadelphia as a player before returning in 2010 as head coach.Collins has coached three years in Philadelphia. In 827 games he is 431-396 with a .521 win percentage. He has also led the Sixers to the post-season in both of his first two years. Last season the Sixers lost to the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semi-finals. http://ibnsportswrap.com/article.php?articleID=89# If this is indeed true, then I'm fine with it as long as it means they get somebody in there that'll actually let the young guys shine. Doug has pretty much lost the team in what has been a pretty bad season and he doesn't really stick around with a team for more than a few years anyway. Also, if he really did say that about Bynum, then I agree with him. Bynum clearly has no desire to actually play here. I feel like if he were somewhere like Miami or OKC he would've been out there playing months ago. EDIT: Wth? My font keeps changing up on me
Dr. Feelgood
I never really thought he was that great of a coach. It boggled my mind that people were putting him in the category of Coach of the Year a couple years ago.
