deestillballin
Derrick Rose's doctor has cleared the Chicago Bulls' star to play, a team source said, but his long-awaited return to the lineup won't occur until he can confidently dunk off his left foot, Rose has told the team.Rose, who had surgery to repair a tear to the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on May 12, has been videotaped dunking off each foot, but more casually than he would during a game. A source said that although he has been practicing and scrimmaging hard, he told the Bulls that until he feels "in his mind" he can confidently dunk off his left foot in a game situation, he is not 100 percent mentally ready to return to competition. http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story/_/id/9031045/derrick-rose-chicago-bulls-cleared-play-waiting-dunk-confidently-left-foot-source-says
Make It Naaaashty
Definitely agree he should wait till he's 100%, he would be dumb to come earlier.
Gooner
He was cleared like 4 weeks ago. This is just the Bulls front office leaking this info out today, essentially throwing Rose under the bus and putting preasure on him to get back on the court. Basically, the ball's in your hands, Derrick. And listening to some sports radio here today, Rose is getting hammered. Not a good day for Derrick.

Dr. Feelgood
He can be 100% physically, but if he's not 100% mentally, he needs to wait. Which obviously he isn't.
Gooner
He can be 100% physically, but if he's not 100% mentally, he needs to wait. Which obviously he isn't.The problem is he's not going to get to 100% until he plays. The doctors pretty much said this, playing is the final part of rehab. You have to play in order to get to 100%. Rose says he won't play til he feels normal, he might as well retire then.
Make It Naaaashty
If Rose can come back and contribute 20 PPG instantly, the Bulls can be very dangerous considering how good their defense is.

Gooner
First you say 'the Bulls front office are throwing Rose under the bus and putting pressure on him to get back on the court', then you're not Ok with him saying he won't play till he feels normal..?I want him to go out and play because that's the next step in his rehab. Obviously I'd feel different if there was pain or a physical setback, but that's not the case. It's all mental with him, and in order to get over that mental hurdle he has to play.
