Phightins
I wonder if the Carolina Hurricanes are enjoying this, 5-ish months after placing Michael Leighton on waivers. Granted, they have Cam Ward, but still. Also, I hope Hal Gill enjoyed that nice dose of karma served to him by Danny Briere.

EastCoastNiner
At least no cars were license plates were stolen this game, and no control panels had beer poured on them. Don't worry, Montreal will be smashing cop cars the next two games. A funny story that I was reading was that two Flyers fans were telling some French-Canadian Montreal fans to go back to France, yet the two morons were wearing Simon Gagne and Daniel Briere jerseys. .  Anyways, the better team is leading the series right now, and I really think that IF the Flyers make the finals, they have a very good chance at winning the Stanley Cup. Even before the last series, I wasn't looking too forward to playing them, and once they got Simon Gagne back, and David Krejci got hurt, it was all downhill from there. Phightins
So weird seeing a goalie steal a game for the Flyers. So so weird. I was at a sports bar watching with Fly3rs and co., so it was kind of difficult to watch closely, but based on what I saw and what I am reading now, the Flyers need to be better in game 3. Kind of funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_WDOHBqwSE&feature=player_embedded
Phightins
Definitely not a "must win" tonight, but it would sure be nice.
Phightins
Well tonight was not a must win, but I would have liked to see a better effort than that. Pretty much everyone except Michael Leighton was terrible. Also I know the Flyers are known as the dirtiest team in the league but the way the Canadiens gooned it up at the end of a game they were dominating was pretty awful. Also, classy coaching to have the top power play unit on the ice on a 5-on-3 the end of the game. Edited May 21, 2010 by Phightins
BasX
Sucks to come home from work to a loss, but time to focus on Game 4.
Phightins
Sucks to come home from work to a loss, but time to focus on Game 4. Yeah. If they can leave Montreal with a 3-1 lead, all will be well. Luckily, I don't think I can remember Chris Pronger having back to back bad games, and he was AWFUL tonight. So he should come out on a mission in game 4 (I hope). Phightins
Carter and Lappy both back in the lineup today. Nodl (expected) and Carcillo (wow WTF) are both healthy scratches. I don't really agree with that. Honestly I would have scratched Powe or Asham before Carcillo.
Universe
You could put me in net and those Flyers defensemen would get me a shutout in this series.

fly3rs18
pronger played 31 minutes and timonen played 25, its just crazy. those two never play at the same time, so that means just about the entire game either pronger or timonen is on the ice. that is just incredible. both of those guys could be a number 1 shutdown defender for almost any team and the flyers have at least one of them on the ice at all times
EastCoastNiner
I can see the Flyers winning it all, but maybe Michael Leighton will go cold next series if the Flyers advance. Also, if Michael Leighton gets one more shutout this series, he will be the sole record holder for most shutouts in a single playoff series. Phightins
With the exception of game 2, I don't think Leighton has been spectacular. He has just been making the saves he needs to make and the Flyers defense has been dominating.
fly3rs18
yeah, leighton is far from the reason why this team is doing well. it is pronger, timonen and the rest of the defense. i dont mean to take any credit from leighton, he has been great in the playoffs and has made key saves at key times in games. he has been very important, but the defense has done an amazing job at clearing out rebounds and limiting the inside shots and similar. the defense has been absolutely incredible and leighton has said this in his interviews too
fly3rs18
1 shot in the second period?? are you kidding me? and the canadiens were playing well too
