He's a great defender, averaged 12/7 in 34 games last season...but the problem is that, over three years in the league, he has played just 136 games. He's still young (24 years old), so he could fully recover, but still...it's a lot of money, extending him through the 2024-25 season. Is he worth it? I can play devil's advocate, like I always seem to do. Orlando has nothing right now. They dealt their two best players in Vučević and Gordon. I can't think of a single player on their team that is worth keeping. So, we know what they could get from Isaac: he averaged 1.6 STL and 2.3 BLK in under 30 minutes of play, gave them excellent defensive effort, and he wasn't a bad scorer. Orlando picked him up probably because he reminded them of Rashard Lewis. Will he ever be as good as Shard? Who knows, but the potential was there pre-injury. I just don't see anything offensively that makes me think he develops into an 80 million player. As a Raptors fan I've watched him two straight years in the playoffs and nothing outside of his defensive game has stood out tp me. He is still young but I just don't see the upside in his game. Hes going to be a really good defender who is lacking offensively imo.
