The Goods
The agent for Marquis Daniels told The Associated Press in an e-mail on Monday that the Pacers have indicated that they will not pay the final year of the deal. Daniels would have made $7.3 million next season, but now he's an unrestricted free agent. A Pacers spokesman says the team cannot comment on the situation until free agency officially begins Wednesday. Indiana is likely to start Brandon Rush at shooting guard during the 2009-10 season. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60169/20090629/pacers_decline_option_on_daniels/

Cleveland's Finest
Sort of surprising. I thought they'd keep him after he had such a great season. Knowing how good he was in the playoffs with Dallas, I'd keep him to try and make a playoff run at the 6-8 seed with Granger entering his prime, Dunleavey no longer injured, and Hibbert excelling. Multi-Billionaire
In this economy $7 mil is a lot for a 13 ppg player who does little else but score. And the Pacers are not contending for championships... it's a no brainer to let him go.
