ChosenOne
Monta Ellis waiting on test results for back Monta Ellis, who missed Saturday's game with a sore back, is not with the team for the start of their five game road trip and is awaiting test results before determining his availability for the rest of the week. Uh oh. He's obviously a very risky fantasy start as of now, and it seems highly unlikely he'll play at Miami on Tuesday or at Orlando on Wednesday. Maybe we'll get an update in time for lineup deadlines, but don't count on it. It seems like the safest plan of action is to bench Ellis this week. Andris Biedrins, who is dealing with a sore groin, also did not make the trip. Twitter Biedrins won't play in next five games Andris Biedrins did not accompany the Warriors for the start of their five-game road trip and is out indefinitely with his groin injury. He'll see a specialist soon in order to determine a plan for recovery. If you've been dying to cut Biedrins, now's your chance, while Anthony Tolliver looks like a good roll of the dice going forward Twitter Edited March 1, 2010 by ChosenOne
Poe
I can't watch this game live today. If it records properly, I'll look forward to seeing the Heat blow them out in the morning. At least, it should be a blow out. Ellis, Maggette, Randolph, and Biedrins are all out. Hopefully Bease will find his rhythm back with this game. I can also imagine D1 having a good game with Golden State's uptempo play.
The Regime
Time for Steven Curry to prove once again why he should be their pg for the long term, he'll be flirting with a triple double by the end of this one. Flash
Steph Curry is absolutely killing Rafer right now. Give the ball to Beasley btw Spo. Call some plays for him. He's 2-2 so far.
Flash
That second foul on Beasley was a terrible call. WOW.
Poe
I manage to catch the second half. Spectacular game from Wade. If he keeps the up, the Heat should build their way back up to a decent seed. Also, good job to Q, Bease, and Arroyo for knocking down their shots.
Flash
Michael Beasley played a grand total of 21 minutes? GTFO man. Spoelstra is killing this kid before he can ever become anything. We won this game because we have Dwyane Wade. It should've never been this close. I'm absolutely done with this fool running our team. Poe
Matchups didn't permit Bease to play the small forward, and Haslem is almost always outmatched at center. Both shared nearly equal time at the same position. That's a big issue, though. The lack of versatility in those two players. Trying to find minutes for both Haslem and Beasley without getting outmatched may be a big part of the reason to the Heat's struggles. For next year, either Beasley finally learns to defend wing players, or Haslem will get a much reduced role... or leave.
Legacy
The Warriors almost beat the Heat on the road without Ellis, Biedrins, and Maggette. Are the Warriors better without them or do the Heat suck?

For next year, either Beasley finally learns to defend wing players, or Haslem will get a much reduced role... or leave. My issue is that when Beasley is playing well you leave him at the 4 no matter what. I don't care if this staff absolutely adores Udonis. Beasley is the future and NEEDS to be developed. That, and he was having a better game to being with so there's no excuse for Udonis to play 5 more minutes than Mike. Beasley's main asset is his versatility IMO and the fact that he can play either position although against a team like GS I agree the speed difference may be too much. Beasley's defense has progressed so much but the minutes still aren't there and until they are at least 30-35 a game he'll never become anything close to what he can be. The Warriors almost beat the Heat on the road without Ellis, Biedrins, and Maggette. Are the Warriors better without them or do the Heat suck? Our coach just refuses to play his second best player the minutes he should be getting.
Poe
I'm confident he'll turn out to be the 20 and 10 guy he's expected to be, no matter if Spoelstra gives him 40 mpg this year or 20. I think it's actually a good thing he was drafted by Miami. On any other bottom team, he probably would have kept the no-defense status for his whole career. Miami is teaching him to be disciplined, and I think that will pay off in the long run. It can be frustrating to see Beasley getting the shorter end of minutes in certain games, but looking at the season as a whole, Beasley has made some great strides. Although he hasn't received major minutes today, he most definitely will in the near future. He's going to become a terrific player. Although he hasn't received major minutes today, he most definitely will in the near future. He's going to become a terrific player. If Beasley was on a lower level team he'd still be getting taught defense regardless but he'd also be allowed to go out and play 40 minutes a game and become a dominant offensive player. Udonis should never play more than 20 minutes a game and 25 if Beasley is in foul trouble. That's just the way it needs to be if we ever want this kid to reach his full potential. /you can thank Zo, McAdoo(who should be our HC) and Keith Askins for this kid's development. Legacy
Yeah, I was surprised to see Michael Beasley not play that much. Don Nelson is the same with Anthony Randolph when he's healthy.
Poe
The difference between the Heat and these other teams is that the Heat staff practically forced Beasley to put importance into his defense. It was either he played defense, or he sat. He knows this, so he's worked his [expletive] off defensively. If they gave him automatic minutes regardless of how he plays, then Beasley probably would have never came close to the progress he has made. Maybe on a different team Beasley's stats would have been inflated earlier in his career, but with the Heat, he's turning into the better overall player. Personally, I have no worries that Beasley WILL reach his full potential in time.
