JWaLL
Last season Roger Mason Jr. started off amazingly, nailing 3 point shots left and right, leading the league in 3pt % for part of the season while still being up there in attempts. However, Coach Pop started experimenting a little too much with his role, such as playing as more of a slasher than a jump shooter, and of course, playing backup point guard to Tony Parker. I think Coach Pop realizes now that Mason should stay in his role as a go-to jump shooter who does a decent job of creating his own shot as well. Jefferson will do a great job of stretching out the defense, and having him as a weapon along with Duncan and Parker on the floor, Mason could be left open multiple times for open 3s. Having Finley at the small forward never gave Mason the opportunity since they had similar games. I don't think he will necessarily raise his scoring average, but he will be a much more efficient player alongside Jefferson this season. JWaLL
Agreed, overall it was a fantastic trade for the Spurs. I definitely consider this trade to be the best one made by any team so far. Better than the VC or Wizards/T'wolves trade. I just really think Jefferson gives the Spurs so many more scoring opportunities and can really help confuse the defense and give other players wide open looks. Most specifically, Mason. BlueDevil
Agreed. Spurs are definately the team to beat imo. So long as Manu and Duncan stay healthy, it should be interesting to watch. We also have our first real big 4.
