The Goods
76ers general manager Ed Stefanski has denied a rumor that the team could trade Elton Brand to the Heat. The rumor, which was printed in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, was apparently build around the fact that Miami signed Brand to an offer sheet a few years ago. The "rumored" deal had Philadelphia shipping Brand to the Heat for Jermaine O'Neal and Daequan Cook. "Absolutely not," Stefanski said of any talks between the two clubs. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60171/20090629/stefanski_brand_to_miami_rumors_untrue/
OldChili
Doubt this trade will go through.
Flight
idk this could make sense for Philly with DaeQuan adding to their shooters, but Brand is worth more than O'Neal if he can produce.
Cleveland's Finest
Brand will be injured next year again probably. Miami already traded Jason Kapono a few years ago. They should not trade away their best 3 shooter again. I don't see how JO and Cook for Brand is even close to being equal. That'd be a steal for Philly. The Artesticle
Pretty much a no brainer. This would've been a horrible trade for the Sixers.

O'Neal has no ACLs to play with, and Daequan Cook is your average run-of-the-mill shooter. This would be a horrible trade for us.
Klashnekoff
Mason is indeed correct. Philly lose out on Brand who just recently was acquired and didn't get a chance to really show what he can do. Brand's 2nd season will prove some people wrong, Philly need to hold onto him because he is valuable.
BlueDevil
Ya that would be a terrible trade for Philly. They should deffinately hold onto Brand. You dont sign a guy like that and give up on him after 1 year.
Flash
After Brand's injuries I'm not sure I want him. We need to wait till 2010 and get Mr. Bosh.
Sun Tzu
If Miami got Brand, I'll cry. Even though I ain't a Heat fan.
Diesel
Yeah I'm not ready to give up on Brand especially when his value is this low. However if we did this move and also did the rumored Dalembert for McGrady deal we would be strong contenders in the 2010 FA class which would make things very interesting. Hey Chris Bosh wanna come play with Thad and Iggy? C- SpeightsF- BoshF- ThadG- IggyG- Blake/Lou/Jrue Not bad
