NBAMistress
This game is a given, the HEAT will win this easily... although, I'll be surprised & shocked if NJ actually wins it...
Flash
Serious trap game. They should've beaten us twice before so I'm still not 100% on this.
Poe
Solid play by the Heat, actually. Almost everyone played at least relatively well. The only reason why the Nets were able to stay in the game for so long was because of the amount of times they went to the free throw line. Also, things are starting to click for Wright. You can tell that Spoelstra sees it too since he's played the finishing minutes for 4 games straight. I just wish that Spo would find more than 20 mpg for this guy. Owner Real Deal Posted March 23, 2010 Owner Report Share Posted March 23, 2010 I'm going to go ahead and say it now: I'm not convinced the Heat are a threat to beat any of the top four teams in the East. I wanted to say they could tackle both the Hawks and a hobbled Celtics squad, but I'm just not so sure of it now. It really doesn't have much to do with this game, although this is a small piece of it. The Heat just play scared, and I don't know if they have the goods to get it done in late April. Poe
Kind of an awkward time to make such an assumption.
Flash
I feel like we didn't really try last night. We coasted through the whole game. Based on the way we've played against the top teams this year I think we can be a threat.
Poe
Last year, the Heat faced the Hawks and took them to 7 games with James Jones and Mario Chalmers in the starting line up, and Daequan Cook was also coming off the bench. Now, they have Q-Rich and Arroyo, with an improved Michael Beasley and Dorell Wright, and a more healthy Jermaine O'Neal who's starting to fit in better in the Heat's offense. Cook and Jones don't see the floor much anymore, and Chalmers is reduced to a bench role and may receive even less minutes in the playoffs as the importance of each game becomes greater. Even though the record doesn't quite show it yet, the Heat are an improved team to last year. They can realistically beat the Hawks and upset the Celtics. I think the Magic may have too much depth, and the Heat don't have a legit LeBron-stopper, but the Heat will be getting the 6th or 5th seed, anyway.
