Portland @ L.A. Lakers

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Kobe Bryant, the Lakers' self-proclaimed Bruce Willis, who detests missing games even more than he does missing shots, wants to return to the lineup Sunday at home against Portland after sitting out the last two games to rest his legs and alleviate swelling in his right knee.

Besides Odom, I still don't see what's so special about this bench. Especially when you compare it to the benches of Dallas, Denver, etc...I mean Walton is average I guess....yet these commentators say it's better not to have too much depth, then go on to say how this doesn't matter if LA wins or not and they are just fine.

The too much depth thing was about Portland, and how they traded Steve Blake so they can focus on Andre Miller. And they are right that if we win or not were still fine and have the 1st seed in the West already locked up.

From what I interpret from the Laker fan here, it seems they want this win bad and want to see their team get back on track. I'd say yes, the game is important.

Damn man.

1) Kobe is [expletive] up. Don't play him again for the rest of the season, don't care about HCA in the Finals right now.

2) Fisher is the worst defense player starting for an NBA team. Worse than Nash, Calderon, and anyone else.

3) Gasol's pick and roll defense is pathetic, and it's killing us.

If Kobe plays like this during the playoffs, we're done. Write it down. It's over.

If they call the charge for Vujacic, they better call it for Webster, and they don't. Clearly a charge. And then the illegal screen by Fisher, ramming Webster to the side for a wide open shot for Kobe. Even the homer Laker announcers admitted it.

After the harsh calls on Portland in the Dallas game a few days ago, and now this, it's sort of seeming like a trend by the refs on making bad calls in a sequence of plays on Portland.
