andreusito
I can tell you already. He sprained his finger and doctors told him to stay away of basketball for about 20 days.
La Bomba
I still like Spain's chances of winning without Gasol. They did it in the world championship game, even though it was for only one game.
The Goods
WOW, this is exactly why he shouldn't have played.
kingfish
I cringed when I read the title. He should be ok before training camp, why do we always have finger injurys
Owner Real Deal Posted August 10, 2009 Owner Report Share Posted August 10, 2009 He had to have emergency surgery and will be out for up to three weeks. Looks like he may not play for Spain, either...kind of depends on how quickly he heals, but he won't be able to touch a basketball for the next three weeks, and he'll need to start playing for them by the 7th of September, so that doesn't give him a lot of time to do anything. Warren2ThaG
He'll be fine, but I want Kobe to have surgery too.
The Artesticle
Why is this bad for us? It's not a serious injury and gives him more time to rest up. He's been playing ball non-stop now. Obviously this probably isn't good news for Spain, and I'm sure Pau is pissed as well, but for the Lakers, I don't see how this is a negative. Sometimes we take Pau for granted but if he were to get a big injury or stop being so consistent then we would be in big trouble. Must appreciate what Pau brings to the table. Guest Nissan
Good news for the Lakers and bad news for Spain. Pau gets some rest instead of playing the whole summer.
Sun Tzu
20 days? Nothing that serious IMO.
daken
its on his LEFT hand which is a lot different, because hes right handed. So he might still play for Spain. And Kobe says he doesn't need surgery on his pinky. Its fine.
Warren2ThaG
Lakers to send trainer to check on GasolInstead of relying on translated news reports, the Lakers will send trainer Gary Vitti to Spain to check on Pau Gasol's broken finger. Vitti is scheduled to go to Spain at the end of August to examine the finger, which required emergency surgery to repair damage to a tendon. The injury isn't expected to keep Gasol out for more than a few weeks, but the Lakers want to make sure that the reports coming out of Spain are accurate.---http://lakers.freedomblogging.com/2009/08/12/lakers-send-trainer-to-check-on-gasol/21513/
