JWaLL
I was just browsing through television and saw a program talking about UFO sightings and why aliens might be real. While I was a big skeptic before, I'm now not really sure what to believe. With countless videos of UFO sightings, and theories about planets that could inhabit their own life, it's tough to have a real solid opinion because of how hard it is to believe in life outside of our own planet. My question for debate is, do you believe in life outside of Earth? If so, do you think there are any living beings out there that are as smart or smarter than humans? I'm going to remain neutral on this subject, but I'm closer to the side of believing just because of all the convincing evidence I've seen regarding this subject. Note: I don't mean aliens like this necessarily lol http://www.proofofalienlife.com/proof_of_alien_life_pic.jpg Just any kind of life. Interesting to think about. s.t.a.t.
There is wayyyy to much out there that we dont know about, so I believe there somewhere has to be.

SRV
Yea..there is so much out there in space. We have uncovered probably less than 10% of all that exists out there, maybe even less [i have no idea there is just a lot we don't know]. Can't help but believe there is life out there somewhere. JWaLL
The universe is infinite, so we've definitely tracked a lot less than 10% lol. I'd be shocked if we even hit .5%. But yeah with that much space out there it'd be logical to believe there is at least one other rock formation that can inhabit life on its surface. Warren2ThaG
Yes I do, Try going into area 51, government will kill you and no'1 will know. They hide stuff there.

If the earth is infinite then there is no amount we have tracked its basically kazillions of 0s after the decimal and then one.
JWaLL
If the earth is infinite then there is no amount we have tracked its basically kazillions of 0s after the decimal and then one.The Earth is about 99.999% tracked. I know what you meant, and yeah you're right. There's no doubting that space is infinite, the only skepticism comes from there being life similar to humans on other rock formations in the universe. I can't imagine Earth being the one planet with intelligent life on it. Especially for such a small planet.
Jenneral
Yes, there's no reason to believe we're the only ones here. There may not be any other forms of life in our solar system, but in others there certainly is. However, they're not like the little green aliens you would think they are. But yes the universe is so big there is something out there, there just has to be..

I'm not saying we've literally covered virtually every spot on the planet.

It's constantly expanding, but it's not infinite. And Matt's right, 99.99999% of the earth hasn't been tracked lmao. But, I don't believe in aliens or anything like that. Until there's proof, you're basically saying you might believe in a purple floating cow that can speak German while baking cookies.

JWaLL
but is there something in area 51?They definitely have stuff in area 51 that they don't want the public to know about. However, a skeptic like me would believe that they are probably hiding dangerously weapons and prototype war vehicles and such, as opposed to alien life forms. It's always possible though, because the government is extremely secretive about that whole spot. This video was intriguing to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsyD3_KHwCY

Flight
Somewhere out there, in our infinitely large universe that expands faster than the C, there has to be some life. I mean, even if it's just plankton halfway across the universe from here there is some I'd imagine. As far as UFO sightings and [expletive] here, no. The universe is so large, that even if you could travel at close to the speed of light it would take so many years to go a little distance looking at the big picture. billt chamberlain
to an extent. i don't believe in the green guys with big black eye's but i find it to big of an assumption to declare that earth is and will be the only planet in existance to ever have sustained life. i think some ultra religious people don't believe in aliens simply for the fact that it would make it seem like their idea of god is wrong. but wouldn't it be weird if hypothetically you went to heaven and you met some creatures from a different planet there also lol.
