He was referring to the part about there not being a heaven, because that was a really dumb comment.

So now our beliefs are being judged. You might think being atheist is dumb, but we all know that if you really think that, you're just being intolerant, closed minded, and ignorant.

I think it's dumb that you say, point blank, that there's no heaven and aliens must not believe in Jesus.

Who knows what aliens believe in, if there are any, whatever.

But to say that there's no way there is a heaven, even if you believe that, is dumb. I believe in God, but I can't say "Heaven is definitely there. It's at 3929 Parkway Dr., Cloud #95."

It's not something you just tell someone else is for sure there, or definitely not, however you want to word that. To think that you have to be right is dumb.

So I can't express my beliefs? Do you even know what I said? I didn't say, "There isn't a heaven, and if you believe in it you're just [expletive]ing wrong." I said what I believe in. I'm not persuading to think how I think.

It's the way you said it. "Plus, heaven doesn't exist." You made it sound like it is an engraved fact that heaven isn't real. What you should have said was "I don't think there is a heaven" or "I don't believe in heaven." You are entitled to your own beliefs, but with the way you expressed them made it sound like you were shooting down anyone who believes in heaven.

Thank you. Couldn't have said it better than myself.

If you said "and I don't think heaven exists, anyway," I wouldn't have had a problem with that.

there is absolutely some other kind of "alien" life, but it is not the green creatures that fly around and spy on us. there are other living cells and maybe organisms, but i doubt any type of race as (or more) complex then humans. any thing is possible though and i would not be surprised in the least bit

and with the heaven stuff. i dont think it exists either. i dont believe in any of the bible stuff. if the bible was right then there would be no such thing as evolution. and when there is that big of an issue with something in the bible then it is hard to believe any of it, especially since there is no actual evidence of anything. i believe in science, not religion. but i also think religion can be good because there are some people that need that higher power. and im gonna stop there because its getting pretty off topic

Actually Heaven doesnt exist, if it did, we would have a location and proof.

That's not really fair to say either. We don't have proof that a guy named Slaven Julio Chang ever lived, but at some point it's possible. We don't have proof of anyone with that name necessarily (I'm using that cause it's a pretty rare mix or cultural influences in that name, and I don't know if there ever has been one), but it's still possible one is/was out there at some point.

A mythological place and a bunch of names is totally different, lol.

im not totally sure about that. if there was a heaven that doesnt mean that the spirits would have any effect on anything. it would just be spirits which you wouldnt be able to find. tough to argue though

but if there was a god then there would have to be some kind of proof or something like that. there is not 1 single actual piece of evidence proving there is a god. and there are many pieces of evidence against the existence of god, evolution being a major one.

It's something you can't prove is there, and you can't prove isn't.

We will all find out when we die, but I don't see what the harm in taking the chance in believing and potentially being rewarded for faith is, what could it hurt?

So basically, you only believe in Heaven because you don't want to go to Hell. You don't have faith, you're just selfish, no?

Wow really?

Ummm, no. I'm not about to go into depth with someone that already has decided there's no possibility of a God or Heaven, but no. What I'm saying is, if you don't want to even devote your life or your actions to religion, why wouldn't you at least think maybe it's possible?

For me, it's comforting to believe there is a better place, and I live my life doing what I think is right the majority of the time. I'm not perfect, but I try to do good things for people when opportunities present themselves.

But no, absolutely not. I'm done with you, there's no good that comes from your posts when they're directed at me it seems.

Basically you said you don't see the harm in believing something that could be rewarding to you. You think it's good to believe in something that's rewarding. I doubt it's just me, or maybe it's the way you worded it, but it seems like you just said, "I only believe in Heaven because I don't want to go to Hell."

If you read the above, it's not like I only believe cause Hell scares me, and I live me life as a POS.

What I meant by that is that for the atheists, I don't understand what the reward to not believing is. I don't know how that benefits your life now, and how it could after you die. I don't know that there's a heaven, and I don't think any atheists can truly say they're 100% sure there isn't either. It's just what you think is real, I understand that, but what's the benefit of not believing? I've never understood that.

Nothing deserves worship that doesn't exist. I don't feel like devoting my time to something that isn't real.

If I told you there was a donkey behind you right now, that you couldn't see, hear, smell, touch, or taste, would you believe me?

Nobody says I have to believe you, or you have to believe me. All I'm saying is that it's possible. It's your call, I just don't get why you wouldn't want that possibility in your mind, whether it's in the back or front.

And as far as I know, a donkey has yet to be depicted as a possible God.

Goddess Sheetala, a Hindu God that rides on a donkey?

Not the point though. Basically, what I described to you was your depiction as a God. You've never seen, heard, touched, tasted, or smelt him, so why would you believe in and worship him?

I have to agree with you.

Heaven seems to be a made up place, a story, created to help keep the peace down on Earth. Many people have that in their mind and there's no doubt the greatest story ever that is the Bible has helped cause murder, crimes, etc. Someone in society decided that things could get ugly without a higher force of authority. So this is what they created to help keep things under control, and it worked.
