Haha, you are cheating by putting both Paul and Deron. You gotta pick one or the other. ;)

But nice list, nonetheless. I have to put Rose over Kidd and Rondo. Kidd has been on a steady decline for a while now, and he's nowhere near the offensive player he used to be. And Rose is right there with Rajon, but I'm taking Derrick for the simple fact that he's a legit franchise player, while Rondo isn't.

Still Kidd is one of the best decision makers we have in the game though. And Rose is still inexperienced and makes bad decisions in certain situations( Which is expected for a rookie). And Kidd has shown that he's still a great defender even though he can move the way he used too.

Jameer Nelson anyone?

I'd stick Jameer over Andre Miller.

1) Chris Paul

2) Deron Williams

3) Tony Parker

4) Steve Nash

5) Chauncey Billups

6) Devin Harris

7) Derrick Rose

8) Rajon Rondo

9) Jameer Nelson

10) Jason Kidd

1-9 are all-stars, or potential all-stars. Kidd doesn't get that close anymore.

Jameer is better than Kidd, Miller, and Rondo.

Kidd and Miller, but I don't think Nelson could've averaged a near triple-double in the playoffs, like Rondo did.

Rondo is the better defender, better rebounder, almost better at everything other than shooting the ball.

steve nash over jason kidd why?

jameer nelson over jason kidd?

kidd was never really a scorer an in dallas hes asked to run the offense not to go out there to be a scorer.

kidd still has the skill level to be a triple double threat.

Eh maybe I just don't see it or maybe I'm underrating Jameer. He did have a case for Mip last season and had a breakout season but then he got injured so maybe that is effecting my judgment.

Uhhh its all wrong, check this out.

10)Miller

9) Rondo

8) Jameer

7) Harris

6) Rose

5) Nash

4) Parker

3) CP3

2) Billups

1) DWill

thats right folks, CP3 is 3rd. He cant match up with elite PG's like Billups, Parker, or DWill. He always gets outplayed by them. Billups actually gets better in playoff time. CP3's numbers were down all across the board last year against Billups in the first round, where as Billups actually went up. Billups is too physical for CP3. DWill is just the best PG theres no disputing that.

See 2009 Playoffs for reasons....Pretty tired of people bashing him just because he schooled Kobe in Game 6 of the 2008 Finals, so people just say well Rondo has 3 HOFers.

He schooled Kobe?

Please dude. Just because a Lakers fan doesn't think Rondo is sixth on your list doesn't mean you can go attack his team. Mature a bit.

Not really attacking, but if Rondo didn't play the game he did in Game 6 of the 2008 Finals, most people wouldn't care about him much they would still underrate him. He's a good player, star player.

He's easily the best rebounding PG in the NBA. One of the best floor generals and is arguably the best defensive PG in the NBA. It's hard to put guys like Miller and Rose above him, when he's the best at so many things at his position. It's almost like saying James Worthy is better than Dominique Wilkins, In my opinion that is true. Worthy never had much of a chance to prove himself as a leader since he played with Magic Johnson his entire career but he was still a damn good player. Just like Rondo.

So good at many things?

If you contest Rajon's jumper, he misses it. He schooled Bryant? Because Bryant left him open to shoot, so he could defend Ray Allen, who was schooling Fisher. In fact, Phil Jackson stated that Bryant was free to roam defensively, because he didn't need to respect Rondo's shot. That's why Rondo shot 20-53 (37.7%) in the Finals against Bryant, including 1-7 in Game 5 and 8-20 in the Game 6 you are telling me he dominated Bryant in.

He was smoked by Rose in Game 1 because Boston actually trusted his man-to-man defense (ended up double-teaming Rose for the rest of the series). Billups, Hinrich, Kidd...all better defensive point guards, and there aren't very many other points that actually play defense other than those guys, Rondo, Chalmers and Pargo (sure I'm missing someone).

And Rondo didn't defend Bryant by himself. Not once. Not in the Finals. I've seen the series three times now, and I'm pretty sure it had a lot to do with Posey, Brown and Garnett stepping into Bryant's face each and every time he touched the ball or drove in.

Rondo has absolutely no post game. His footwork is average on his best day.

He's got a ways to go.

Alright I'm Gonna direct you to the part of the post where you put Billups ahead of Cp3. And then Direct you to the part where you claim I got my list all wrong. Just examine both of those statements and see if it makes sense.

I don't get why everyone is overrating Jason Kidd. I watched a bunch of Mavs games last year and he doesn't look like anything special anymore. His shot is alright now, but that's it. A lot of times they play him at the two-guard to allow him and Barea to play together so that takes some of the playmaking ability out of his hands. He has slowed down a lot and gets owned by the quicker guards now. He isn't as good at penetrating and running the break as he used to due to his loss of quickness.

This topic reminds me of why the media shouldn't get to vote on player awards.

Jameer Nelson

2008-09 STATS

PPG APG SPG

16.7 5.4 1.2

Baron Davis

2008-09 STATS

PPG APG SPG

14.9 7.7 1.7

Nelson gets one extra basket per game. However, Nelson nets 5.4 assists playing with maybe the best inside finisher in the league, and a half dozen spot up shooters. Baron manages 7.7 assists with...well, the Clippers. Yet everyone ranks Jameer higher? Well, of course. His team was better.

We saw the same effect in the MVP and (God knows) the Coach of the Year voting. How about a new ranking: The 3 most important skills in basketball:

3. Defense

2. Offense

1. Having good teammates

Congratulations to Jameer Nelson. It takes a special kind of dedication and work to be drafted onto a team with Dwight Howard.
