Micahel Beasley.

He may not be the best fit for the team as that would probably be Eric Gordon or maybe even Kevin Love, but I just wouldn't be able to pass up the potential that Beasley has if I were the Grizzlies. If they were a team that was one piece away from the playoffs then I could see picking the player that you think fits the best on the team, but considering the position that they were in last season, that isn't the case so I am going with the best player available and that player is Michael Beasley in my opinion.

For me, it was out of Beasley and Gordon. Memphis needed a potential superstar at that time (which is why they traded Love for Mayo), and if all picks are final, I'm selecting Beasley at five.

I'm taking into consideration the fact that they will have Marc Gasol and Rudy Gay, and they need someone who can score points in their frontcourt, because Rudy can always play the guard position, if necessary.

Beasley is too good to pass up at five. I really didn't know Gordon would be a sensational rookie, either...and I'm not sure everyone else did, or else he would've been picked top five.

I would pick Beasley too. He is a sensational scorer and is actually coachable. He doesn't let not starting and criticism of his defense from media and his own coach get to his head... but he gets the message and keeps improving. If he keeps his head above his shoulders he should be a lock for a superstar.

Grizzlies need a superstar power, if not Mayo then Beasley is a very good consolation pick.

Considering Beasley was considered one of the top two players in this draft, falling to 5 seems reasonable. The Grizz need defense from their front court, and Love doesnt really provide great defence. Also, with Rudys ability to play either SF or SG, I think taking Beasley solidifies your front court here along with Gasol.

To me its between Beasley and Gordon, but with how much more playing time hed get with the Grizz, he would probably put up more points, but his defense would still need to improve

And Stop leaving Mario Chambers out the polls

Mario Chalmers is my favorite player from the draft class, and him and Rush are my favorites since Hinrich and Collison were drafted, but he doesn't belong in the poll alongside guys like Gordon and Beasley.

Yeah, that's a good idea.

Gordon can run the point, though...and there's an "Other" option. ;)

I'll include someone from all five positions next pick. But if anyone picks Chalmers at #5, it doesn't make sense for Memphis, at all...because they have Conley, and there are better players on the board.
