Wow.

I still am in awe of this.

A little background information in case you aren't aware:

Al Megrahi is a former Libyan intelligence officer, head of security for Libyan Arab Airlines, and director of the Centre for Strategic Studies in Tripoli, Libya.

On 31 January 2001, he was convicted, by a panel of Scottish Judges sitting in a special court at Camp Zeist in the Netherlands, of 270 counts of murder for his part in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, on 21 December 1988.

Megrahi was sentenced to life imprisonment. Suffering from terminal prostate cancer, with less than three months to live, he was freed on compassionate grounds by the Scottish Government on 20 August 2009.

Kenny MacAskill, the Scottish justice minister, said freeing him showed Scotland's “humanity.”

This guy came off the plane in Libya yesterday and there was thousands of nationals praising him like a hero.

I'm not going to say what I think should be done to him because the thread may be deleted. But you probably get the idea.

He got 3 months to live. I dont think he can do anything in that short amount of time.

Agree.

Similar case, one of the women who was involved in the Tate murder by the Manson Family (apparently, she held down the actresses arms while the rest of the Family killed her), was convicted of assisting in murder and is currently serving a life imprisonment for a number of these assisted murders, also asked for parole recently because she's terminally ill (some sort of cancer or tumour), but was denied. I wouldn't have imagined that a 60+ year old terminally ill female would be a threat to society, to be honest.
